The last two hotels I’ve stayed at have been mostly okay except for one shared misery: shower heads that scream or whistle. After a busy day I enjoy relaxing in a long shower (big surprise); screaming showers though, I classify as otter-abuse. I should be compensated.

On the plane home from a successful work trip to Toronto. I hate the travel process, and work travel is a pain, but this turned out better than I expected. Connected with a coworker and knocked it out of the park. And ate a a great little Izakaya place in Vaughan—twice!

To be clear, the cull wasn’t because AI can do it or replaces us, but because the market doesn’t know if they should commit money to external consultants if “AI can do it”—IMO they’re still figuring out it can’t. The hard part is staying solvent while the market is irrational 😔

Well, I guess I should be happy to have survived the AI work cull. Can’t say how our projects will succeed without the staffing to do the work. Lean times. At least this otter still has a job… nice to know in this market I might still be able to barter my skills. I feel bad for my missing peers.
