idk Delicious in Dungeon riffs on DnD (Dungeons and Dragons), shortening to DinD which is kinda like saying dindins which is an old English word used by children to mean dinner. Once I learned the puns hidden in it, it grew on me. Would not be shocked to learn the author did it on purpose.

The same rule applies to English media. I will call it "Dr. Strangelove", not "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" I will call it "Interview with the Vampire", not "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles" which has Vampire twice in the same name.
