Hey do you want music for something? Maybe a theme for a dramatic moment in a fanfic or you just want your OC to have a theme song, I have you covered. Kinda in a tight spot money-wise atm so sharing would be appreciated.

ok ok here's what I did. Luckily someone on internet archive compiled a bunch of japanese anime subs that weren't on opensubtitles for some reason (had no jp options for the show I was watching) I fucking. got a video download extension (sites only provide downloads for baked sub versions)

the more I search for anime with japanese subtitles the more I struggle to find it. I guess some dvds have them??? it's SO easy to find english shows with english subs. blows up the world

I love mario kart but I don't enjoy the implication that every main character is the face of several in universe brands. I don't want rosalina to own a bus tour company that's weird

my songs are sometimes pretty fun to play on piano! neat!! (Girl who got to play a piano for the first time in years and remembered how fun they are)

using an old plugin called "hyper canvas" and its character knob to make weird unique sounds then rendering them as directwave instruments to further mess with them. one BILLION different slightly unique but good piano sounds this way.

Youtube recommending me an episode from the podcast i listened to recently. Why why why!!! Don't you understand i only listened because of their guest? They were an awful host and did a 20 minute ad read with loud music

Demo of a song for a project that is no longer happening! oooohe mystery!!!

250

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

my strategy for making music often boils down to "wow this is fun, I made like 4 demos in a day that all sound unique!" then I wait weeks and have to finish them all suddenly and then get mad that I rushed.

030

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

basically anything I release as a bonus track for something else wasn't actually made for it, it was just made at a similar time or was an influence on the style of the project.

030

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

something fun you'll see come up occasionally as I keep making music is that if something is released as a "bonus track" or is "unused" for a previous project I tend to use it somewhere else later HEHEHE

030

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

why is linux mint's midi tempo modulation SO fucked up? it's the only instance I've seen where the tempo changes are exaggerated to that degree

I'm so sad that I'm gonna have to stop releasing my project files alongside ost releases after quasi spatial songs are released (at least mostly) because the vsts I'm using now are pirated and won't get packed in I'm so sad

crazy how having real bass on a song makes the rest of the instruments sound real somehow. my cousin sent me some cool bass recordings and my normal kinda dinky piano synth sounded great over it

I feel like I dropped the ball so hard with patchmaker final boss theme. I can accept that I was crunching because I procrastinated a lot but geez that needed so much work! I think it has literally THE best opening for any song I've ever written but I'm not very happy with how empty it is.

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I think some tracks that sound VERY "apple" are like - stone terrace city/gold soaked sky/candlelit chamber from patchmaker and like - overclocked from mario's modules 2? Idk what about them specifically they just remind me of my old stuff and that makes me happy. I mean some of them ARE old lol

I feel like I had such a defined style back in 2020 and I have been taking more inspiration from it lately. I wanna keep evolving and learning but I never wanna lose whatever weird thing I had going on back then

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I don't understand the trope of horror games locking you into a jumpscare just from touching a threat. It makes me avoid them for the abstract reason of "they'll yell at me" instead of feeling like they actually DO anything I like when they hurt the player since then i feel like OW OW OWW

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I like the small amount of "online persona" I have where I am basically just me but I get to be mysterious about music and pretend for one second I am not sweating profusely trying not to send a demo every time i add a new note to my project.

Gonna try to talk less about online art discourse. It comes up often as I am someone who copes with some of my trauma through art, but it IS tiring. I support making whatever weird art you wanna make. Sure some of it is gonna make me uncomfy, but thats what muting/blocking is for.

my next song is gonna be really weird

030

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I feel like there are about 3 distinct types of songs I make and I'm trying to break out of it. there's like - cutesy character theme, catchy and weird pop song, and boss battle and I experiment within each of those but never really break out.

120

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Turn on the TV apple is saying the same thing about online art discourse for the 20th time

020

Apple @ornevelder.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Saw someone vagueposting (who i am now vagueposting) about art discourse online and i feel like i have somewhat unpopular opinions about art in that i think anyone should be able to draw whatever they want and it doesn't automatically make them bad for drawing it or liking it.
