As authors as much as we complain/joke about having to do in-depth research for very brief scenes, it's really cool and fun (at least for me) to do deep dives into topics, cultures, nature, and biology that I never considered, took for granted, or just never knew about at all. #Booksky

Raziya Kimoni the youngest and only girl of the three is a scholarly genius at only 13. She can speak multiple languages and has memorized years worth of laws history and politics. Her dreams of becoming a Savant are derailed by a marriage arrangement but a coded plea for help catches her eye 4/6

The story focuses on three siblings of the powerful Kimoni clan whose duty is to protect the Kitwana Savanna and keep the peace won by their king. Kamau the younger brother is a ruttlerless middle child dreaming for his time in the sun. A sabotaged ritual might just give him the chance he seeks

The Kimoni Legacy: Initiation is an Afro-inspired Epic Fantasy that takes elements from West African mythology, folklore,and history to create the continent of Nahwalla. The book is the first of a planned series and Roots meets Game of Thrones 2/6
