This is expected to be a record breaking winter, and many families are going to lose their money on food before they can buy coats. Even without money to donate, there are always other ways to help.

000

📱 To learn what you have around you, go to Facebook and Nextdoor. Facebook groups especially! Check out local libraries, resturants, and stores for fliers. Many churches also publicly host their bulletin that will list the charities nearby. Most charities have a "volunteer" tab on their website

🌱 Also for food pantries specifically: Disposable food packaging, disposable cooking tins, disposable napkins and plates, and disposable silverware, are often in demand. Call the pantry FIRST to ask though. Usually they just prefer cash if you dont have a significant ammount of these items.

🧦 Unused products- tooth brushes, razors, floss, deodorant, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels. Also undergarments and socks. Winter items: gloves (work/winter), hats, scarves, coats, blankets, and winter boots and shoes. Some places take fabric, cleaning supplies, and storage items as well!

120

🛏 Last one is shelters, but if a shelter is good it is unlikely to let someone suddenly sign up to work on the inside. What a shelter might accept w/o a background check is auxiliary time donations, like cleaning linens. They also need basic necessities. This brings us to:

100

🌱 Urban community gardens are different, with smaller plots and bigger populations. What they make is usually set for a specific pantry or shelter. These gardens often need a lot of hands to keep up with their high output, and there is also often a need for volunteers with powertools for.

100

🌱 Volunteer at a community garden. Not a "selling lots" one but one for outreach. Rural and suburban ones often run a CSA. Sometimes they will donate surplus to local food pantries. You can offer to deliver it if they don't! Side note, CSA ones often will give the volunteer portions of produce.

🛻 There are other organizations that organize driving to deliver food and groceries to disabled and elderly people. Meals on wheels is known for this with a focus on the elderly, but many other groups are asked for this. In my experience, pantries get asked for this a LOT.

🍎 Food pantries need help picking up, moving, and organizing food, not just handing it out. Especially for holidays they often have to ask students to volunteer, but students can't drive a car to deliver food to the pantry or stack heavy boxes.

How to still help with the loss of #SNAP even if you don't have cash to donate by donating your time or non-food supplies

Fun fact: #jaycegiopara 's outfit actually makes 0 sense. Why is he like this?

(League) Jayce costume concept, full body with turn around for the coat.

League Jayce costume concept focusing on a turn around for his pants. Has dropped belt loops with a raised waistline.

Concept for same costume pants with work on the coat closure and also under armor for the chest.

I illustrated @orcbiddies.bsky.social fic, please go read it and give it lots of love. Special thanks to our beta @justoakleaf.bsky.social and to the mods for doing a monumental excellent work organising the BB. FIC : archiveofourown.org/works/72415841 #jayvikbb2025 @jayvikbigbang.bsky.social

Jayce lying on the sand injured, holding a chain with a blue stone while looking at Viktor suspiciouly. Viktor is lying on the sand as well and is looking at Jayce with concern. They both are carrying bags with navigation tools. There's a dense fog dissipating, revealing a bright sky in the background.

This shot is from the same morning, it is a vibe

Golden light filtered through fog. Shot is framed by trees and woods and showing a wetland beyond it.

If I may, even if they're not up to talking right now, just hearing you're there for them might mean the world. Sometimes people won't be in a good spot to be told something. But if they know you're there, they'll know where to go when they are ready to talk about the hard stuff.

Pato delivered. I was sending them tiktoks like "this is the vision" and they nailed the scene so good I had to rewrite my descriptions to live up to it

What will Viktor do when a washed-up Jayce Talis is found on the shores of Zaun, saying he’s on the run? @orcbiddies.bsky.social (Bsky & Tumblr) with their beta @justoakleaf.bsky.social | oakleaffic (Tumblr) and artist @paperpato.bsky.social | pato-roldnart (Tumblr) might have an idea in their fic.

You get the gay standard plan 😔 its only 3.99 an hour though

A hands on demonstration? Thats a shame. Uberdoober Epic Gay only starts when the handcuffs come out.

Atlas @orcbiddies.bsky.social · 23/08/2025

This feels gay. Are you gay? I should have known. Only The Gays like robots.

Atlas @orcbiddies.bsky.social · 21/08/2025

It's not an inaccurate read imo? Talis spends his story naive to his hero casting. Giopara is shown to be aware of it and its gravity. Talis is at the start of Paragon, optimistic. Giopara is at the end, a pessimistic old man. Even if not literal, the vibe exists in the dynamic.

Might edit these later, I did forget to adjust the white balance, but god damn if challenging myself to shoot in manual focus more isnt paying off. Wildlife/nature/pet photos are like getting thrown into the deep end and having to learn on the fly, but that's not bad.

A dragonfly, isolated on the stem of what used to be a flower and is now just seeds.

A zoomed out shot of the same thing, the red dragonfly on a stem of was used to be a flower. Now parts of the background are more visible but still very blurred. My white balance is off, so the shot is very yellow.

011

This gives Jayce a reason to pause and be introspective too, and ask if he really wants to define himself by what is most convenient, or even what is safest. And this is why theyre happily married by a river 😭

And then compare that to how historically Jewish men were stripped of masculinity to alienate them, so Viktor had to define masculinity for himself. There was no access to "conveniently masculine" for him like there was for Jayce.

100

This would not be the same for him if he was visibly Muslim, especially since Hextech is explained to have infrastructure and defense contracts.

100

And then to play it into themes of gender, where Muslim masculinity is villainized for what is essentially the same traits Christain masculinity is praised for. Jayce as a pleasantly Christain agnostic man would be seen as a bootstrapper and go-getter for having invented hextech.

100

If Jayce is interpreted to present himself as vaguely agnostic on his family's coaching to protect him, it makes his meeting Viktor who is undeniably Jewish a fascinating dynamic out the gate.

During this time it was even common to encourage kids to present "less Arab" to distance from Levantine Catholicsm and to present "more politely Christain" for Arab families that were Muslim or Jewish.

100

Atlas @orcbiddies.bsky.social · 11/08/2025

You joke, and yet... Jayce's mom being from Columbia or Brazil leaves so much room for his father to be from the Levant due to the history of immigration.

Long time no photo post but I just found this cloud iridescence shot I snapped again. Unedited, just shot in manual because Im apparently a masochist.
