Jan Schakowsky, the incumbent in my race, will reportedly not seek re-election. So it seems like a good time to reintroduce myself — I’m Kat Abughazaleh and I’m running for Congress.

i keep trying to use synthv 2 and like. idk its still not enjoyable but im kind of understanding it at least?? its still not something i'd use often though. i don't know why but almost all the voices will just pronounce things weird or flat out ignore phonemes??

120

Optikaros (Quinn / Rome) @optikaros.bsky.social · 20/03/2025

after using it more i think i can safely say i'm only using synthv 2 for hxvoc. everything feels like a downgrade with so many features removed, and while the voices sound *good*, they're too perfect and rounded and lose the charm. it just sounds fake and soulless imo

010

Optikaros (Quinn / Rome) @optikaros.bsky.social · 20/03/2025

oh my god im in love with synthv 2 now actually (joke) i can't open the file i was preparing for hxvoc at all!!!!! this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

000

Optikaros (Quinn / Rome) @optikaros.bsky.social · 20/03/2025

i'm legitimately only using this for hxvoc it is. Miserable to use. zero way to get any stylized tuning, program keeps crashing when i try to open most of my already tuned files so i can't even compare, and the voices just sound off!

100

Optikaros (Quinn / Rome) @optikaros.bsky.social · 20/03/2025

trying out synthv 2 right now and highkey really disappointed with a lot of this. biggest thing for me so far is that the voices i have sound way different and are even mispronouncing things (not in an accent way. just actual phoneme fuck-ups)

tbh that demo video with hxvoc made me a little nervous for preordering him so soon... im sure that hxs vocals will sound better when i tune them, but that was still a bit rough to listen to 🥲
