[reupload] loser!!!!! him and his silly little nervous habits #ourlifebeginningsandalways #olba #baxterward

greyscale doodle of baxter ward from the visual novel our life beginnings and always.

baxter is blushing and looking towards the side, while pulling on his shirt collar and sighing. next to him is a squiggly line leading towards a heart.

the linework is a bit messy, with partial greyscale coloring, and the background is a lighter grey.

Here are some scrapped doodles and drafts from this! I like to think that after marriage they'll most likely settle down for awhile, focus on their jobs, and save up before deciding to jump into another major life milestone so it def took a couple of years. But good for them!👍 #olba

Went back and edited this new years doodle of them and replaced the text with little details above. Despite being one of the earliest things I've doodled, I think this is still one of my absolute favorite pieces so far of them !!! #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #olba

"You got up but, seeing Cove struggling to extract himself and stand up with just the one fully functional arm, gave him a hand getting to his feet. It wasn't your intention to run still holding on to each other, but neither of you remembered to let go." #OurLifeBeginningAndAlways #CoveHolden

Omg did I never post this here.....aiyah. Anyways the little keychain scene that I thought was really endearing and it's one of my favorites from step 1. #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #CoveHolden

Cove and MC looking at a box of handmade keychains going Wow!!
Cove looks over at her

MC fixated on the shark keychain she's holding
Cove: do you want that?
MC: What? It's cute, but it costs $6...

Cove: that's ok. dad told me to get you something anyways...
MC blushing and grateful: thank you Cove... I'll keep it safe.

First meeting, name stuff! I wanted to keep the default name for this character, but also let her have her own name too so I came up with this haha. But I guess this is also pulled from personal experience. I'm still struggling with drawing kid Cove- #OurLifeBeginningAndAlways #olba #CoveHolden

MC: My name is Hujing! but if that's too hard to say, you can call me Jamie!
Cove:....
Cove: which one do you like?
MC: huh?

Cove: It's your name so...um.. you should choose which one you'd like to be called.
MC: *blank stare* then....
MC:*smiles* Hujing!

Favorite Flower (2/2) Coveeee😭precious... #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #CoveHolden #olba

Cove: This is my favorite kind of flower, but I didn't know what it was called. Thanks.
MC: mm... I think Buttercups are really great! but I like all kinds of flowers!

Cove: Yea. Those are nice too. They're bright and cute. You match with them.
MC: I'm cute?

Cove: oh uh, yea.

He stopped the conversation there suddenly shy.

Favorite Flower (1/2) In game I chose the poppies to match him (I personally like roses), but for the sake of this comic I put buttercups cause of what Cove says... LIKE🥺😳 #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #CoveHolden #olba

Cove examining a poppy
MC: that's a poppy.
Cove: looks at MC, looks down at the flower

MC: And the type of poppies on this hill have the name "White Linen Poppy." Mom told me.
Cove: that's funny.
Cove: It doesn't feel like cloth. You'd need a lot of them to make anything.

Complicated friendship feelings about Shiloh. I think they get along on a very surface level, but it's probably still a little frustrating. What can you do😮‍💨Hujing's probably really happy that Cove is there these days #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #CoveHolden #ShilohFields

MC: I always thought Shiloh and I were friends.. maybe we are, but...

It's really obvious that he prefers hanging out with Lizzie a lot more and it's a little awkward when it's just us.

MC: no matter what I do, he never tells me his thoughts and it frustrates me a lot.

Cove: Hujing?
Cove: are you okay?

$but, MC: Cove... I'm so glad you're here..!!\ *bonk* Cove: ??$

Next Day

Cove: Dad do we have band-aids?
Cliff: Hey Sport! We do, but uh. What's wrong? Are you hurt?

Cove: no... it's not for me.
Cliff: ? o-oh ok. if you say so...
*knock knock* oh!
Cliff opens the door: Hi kiddo!
MC: Hi Mr. Holden!

MC beaming: Can Cove come play?
Cliff notices the patches around Hujing's hand and legs "ah..!"
Cove: Hi Hujing
MC: Hi Cove!! Wanna go to the beach?
Cove: okay
Cliff: so that's what it is!

Band-aids (1/2) Cove notices Hujing has a lot of band-aids on her #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #olba #CoveHolden

Cove: you have a lot of band-aids
MC: oh yea. I trip and fall a lot. Mom tells me to be careful because I keep using up all the wipes and band-aids

the actual comic I didn't separate the two words, but I did just for this

MC: but it's okay. I'm used to it.
MC swinging: wheeee

Waving from the window (2/2) Since it looked like we had a lot of windows in the family condo, I wanted to make use of it somehow too #OurLifeBeginningsAndAlways #CoveHolden #olba

MC peeking: I wonder if you're back yet...
spots Cove and his dad with bags and going into their house
MC tapping on her window in a moderate voice: Cove!
Cove turns around to the noise: ...?

Cove: ?! ?? Hujing??
Cove and MC look at each other across the street
MC waving: Hi!
Cove: *smiles*

Cove: *waves back*
MC: -beam-
Their parents
"Cove!" "Hujing!"
Both of them: Coming
