Please take time to read and share experiences of a local woman with the UK justice system. Her abusive ex basically got off scot free with a last min plea change She's started a petition to enact reform of the rules - petition.parliament.uk/petitions/76...

My ex partner was charged with controlling and coercive behaviour alongside 2 counts of non fatal strangulation, he initially plead not guilty which meant a trial date was set. I waited 530 days for that trial to come around, the mental battle on the run up to the trial was the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. On the day of trial he changed his plea, and recieved a "reduction" for his "early guilty plea" this lead to the charge of controlling and coercive behaviour being "laid"/"left on file" so he recieved no punishment for it. He plead guilty to the strangulation and one count of assault by beating. He was sentenced for those to 16 months custodial, suspended for 18 months. And the worst part is he essentially "got away" with the control, the control that he maintained right up until the last minute and he got the huge benefit of not facing punishment for entirely destroying me as a person. I no longer leave my house, I no longer feel safe, and I feel as though this loophole for these kinds of perpetrators should not be readily available. The control is being maintained, enabled and then they get rewarded for it too. This leaves the victims feeling scared, alone, upset, confused and almost as if it wasn't worth reporting in the first place.

I have met a number of detransitioned gay men who tried to live as women for a time because they and their families were so averse to homosexuality. According to a 2019 report in The Times of London, staffers at Britain’s foremost gender-identity clinic joked darkly that, as a result of the facility’s work, “there would be no gay people left.” A statement last month by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons noted that there is no validated way to assess whether a child’s gender distress will persist over time or disappear without medical intervention. A lack of good research and recordkeeping means that we may never know how many patients who would have been considered effeminate gay boys not so long ago have undergone medical treatments for gender dysphoria.

“The binary doesn’t have to include everyone” sounds like a description of something that…isn’t binary, but I am not an Important Scientist. Clearly a computer would be fine with its binary numbers including a few that weren’t either 0 or 1. It wouldn’t make any difference to it.
