If Madonna and Daft Punk had a furry son In other words, fantastically fabulous

... Doesn't Bluesky already do this before you can post? It won't let you post anything with too many photos or above the character limit (forcing myself to edit and get to the point) and it reminds you to add alt text every time

Funny you say this, I originally found you through a random ranking whatever by gayness video a couple years ago but honestly (enjoyable as the fast food video was) I'm staying more for these kinds of videos these days

I've been looking toward to this one!

I'm really looking forward to this! This platform looks like it will fix everything wrong with YouTube and Instagram and provide real competition with Big Tech. I strongly encourage you to support this Kickstarter when it launches on the 13th!

I just deleted my Instagram account finally and honestly I don't miss it. But if you're going to keep using a service, 9 times out of 10 there's a third party client out there that makes the experience a hundred times better

I just think they're funny. Like more often than not, they don't know what they're talking about, and it's just really funny to see someone seemingly care more about a thing than I do, but to hate on it instead of enjoy it. Like I wish I had that much time and passion to burn

My BF is from the South, he says it's way better there than here in Utah (surprisingly queer-tolerant for a very conservative religious area). Haven't had CFA in a more liberal area though, so I can't say anything on the bad cooking end of the spectrum

Never heard of this one! It seemed like the consensus on an alternative was Stoat; I downloaded it but haven't actually explored it yet. Do you know how it compares? I'm just worried as Osmium, as good as it looks, has fewer devs and features so I'm worried about its short and long term usability

It's like when you and your homie are driving around the fancy neighborhood talking about which multimillion dollar mansions you would like and which ones have horrible aesthetics. You're never *ever* going to afford a house like that, but it's fun to dream

I'm in the same boat. I need to fill out the other two bays in my NAS and if I were to get the same 20 TB drives I have already, it would cost north of 1300 USD, and they're currently "on sale"

My (conspiracy) theory is that YouTube *wants* to push AI/low effort slop, and taking away dislikes and counting scrolling past a video or having the mouse cursor rest on the thumbnail counting as a view was the best way to protect it from getting squished by The Algorithm

010 0

Onyx Pebbles @onyx-pebbles.com · 03/09/2026

I feel like I'm constantly having to disable that "feature" since they count as a view and clutter up my watch history. Nowhere to rest the mouse cursor while I'm browsing

"is" also shows you who shared the link, kinda like "So-and-so shared this reel with you" on IG, and it shows a button to DM that person (yes, YT has DMs now). The "si" was essentially only visible to YT

I for one have been enjoying those videos. I don't have much of a public presence myself, but I've been getting so passionate about pro-privacy, open source, and/or self-hosted tech that I'm tempted to focus anything I put out on that. You've been a significant inspiration in that area, fwiw

Finally switched to @grapheneos.org a couple days ago and so far it's been even better than I imagined. Not having to rely on Google for anything + the ability to instant turn off camera/location permissions for EVERYTHING with one switch is amazing

Would you want to do a video on your experience? I want to install it myself but I don't have a Pixel and I'm worried about compatiblity My plan rn is to wait until Motorola starts shipping phones with GrapheneOS next year since it'd be about time to replace my 4 year old phone by then anyway

You just don't need one. The number of Americans who have never left the US is roughly the same as the number of EU citizens who have never left the EU. Driver's licenses are almost universal (unfortunately, since our driver education is subpar) and they serve as the de facto ID for everyday usage

School just started again and I got reminded me that I hate Outlook, Teams, and Windows (one class has us using the computer lab and we can't install relevant software on personal computers) One of my professors gave us a custom ChatGPT app trained on his notes to "help you learn the material" 😑

Seriously though, I've never thought of it that way, but you're right. This is just further evidence that the most annoying people are literal children (Insert "I'm an insufferable, out of touch Old" meme here)

I'm not annoying :c (at least I hope not) Sometime save me from engineering school, we've been in session for less than a week and I'm already drowning 🫠

I had been meaning to pick up a copy and I was glad that I came across it at my local con a couple weekends ago! I also picked up Names while I was there. It's a favorite comic I've read online and I'm glad I have a physical copy now

Too many forget this. Calling out bad behavior is fine, but you MUST pair it with grace and encouragement when someone is making a good faith effort to change. If all you're giving is hostility with no acceptance, don't be surprised if you're met with the same thing in return.

The other problem is that the average worker's retirement (in the US, anyway) is in something like a 401(k) which is basically just an investment account, so anything that threatens the system can be politically lambasted with "they want to take away your retirement!!1!" so nothing gets fixed

For clarification: this was *not* Mitch McConnell, the elderly Republican senator who was hospitalized and feared dead earlier this week. Graham is the 6th member of the 119th Congress to die in office. Can we stop electing corpses and soon-to-be corpses yet?

I mean they did... I don't remember if Windoze is running in a VM or as dual boot but Bardic daily drives Bazzite these days "I boot into Windows three times a week" (implying they usually boot into something else) "This is why I left, Microsoft!"

Dude, your entire account is dedicated to deepthroating AI; what are you talking about, "detached from reality"? Log off, go outside, touch some grass, talk to a real human, visit an art museum, and get a hug or three. I promise you'll feel saner afterward.

120 0

Onyx Pebbles @onyx-pebbles.com · 10/07/2026

Not really, though. Because furries are so art-focused, actual human creativity is cherished and celebrated. AI images are a zombified simulacrum and threaten a core pillar of the whole thing. I've never met a single furry who wasn't skeptical if not hateful of anything AI-related.

Onyx Pebbles @onyx-pebbles.com · 10/07/2026

Try furry conventions! They happen all the time all around the world. The furry fandom is very artistic, anti-AI, and techy so I'm sure you'll find a ton of interest! There are websites that catalog upcoming furcons; search around and you'll find a lot

I mean I don't blame you for maximizing performance, I get it It's just irritating when, for example, I'm going through my subscriptions feed and adding videos to playlists to watch later and the thumbnail changes in those couple of days, making it harder for me to keep track of them

000 0

Onyx Pebbles @onyx-pebbles.com · 08/07/2026

I was digging through my YouTube history to give it another view and I missed it the first time because my thumbnail is different than yours (I got the giant PS logo on mine) Changing thumbnails is my least favorite YouTube feature, and that's saying something

I've Garuda Linux running on my AMD Ryzen 7 5900X and Radeon RTX 7700 XT. We've got 32 GB of DDR4 memory (I could sell that for a pretty penny, I suppose...). I've upgraded almost every part in this machine over the I think 5 years I've had it. More details in the alt text.

My gaming setup! On the right, a tower holds some RGB parts. In the center, there is a dual monitor setup showing off my wallpaper (2 anthro characters kissing under a vibrant sunset) and a couple of desktop widgets; there is a webcam perched on the left monitor. On the desk rests my keyboard and mouse (both with RGB lights), an Xbox Series X controller on a charging stand on the right, and an external UHD Blu-Ray capable disc drive on the left. Mounted on the left side of the desk is a boom arm holding my Blue Snowball microphone with a P-filter in front. In front of the desk mounted on a dedicated stand is my Logitech G920 racing wheel, complete with pedals and a manual shifter.
