Since I binged Banana Fish in a few days, continuing my Netflix exclusive journey with Blue Box. Watched the first four episodes and it's a cute little shonen romance so far. Animation budget REALLY wants to show you how pretty the main girls are. Gotta see more to see how good it gets.

My one LOL moment watching Banana Fish was that one scene where Ash and Eiji talked about how America basically has two cities and the rest of the country is basically flyover states. I'm surprised everyone wasn't a cowboy based on that one scene of shared dialogue.

Banana Fish might be the r**iest anime I've seen to date. Like, the psychological stuff feels so much more impactful than any physical act could portray on screen. You see and feel the trauma over the course of every episode. I do appreciate all of the gratuitous headshots and violence it has.

The latest chapters of One Piece are a reminder that Oda still has his fastball when it comes to comical 1v1 fights. Zoro vs Shepherd Sommers is everything I love about the Strawhats. Zoro knows he has conqueror's haki but isn't sure how to use it consistently yet and Sommers is freaking out.
