I have the StarHub 10gbps but no single device that can use it. I care it to driving on a 10-lane highway - there's never much traffic and my devices can go as fast as they can.

It's funny that CNA censored the car plate number - when it's literally painted on the parking lot 🤣

4.1.0 のリリースまで2か月ちょっとではあるけど、Windows の long を 64bit にするというのを滑り込みで入れることができそう。これでやっと 2GB+ の File をオープンして sha を計算するとかができるようになるかなあ。

I've pushed a Rails 8.1-compatible activerecord-jdbc-adapter 81.0.pre1 for JRuby + SQLite and it can at least CRUD a scaffold app! I've provided a template here for generating a new app: (rails new -m <template>) buff.ly/uUPEfJn

This makes YJIT build and pass nmake check on mswin x64, which Feature #18439 has asked for. I will look after the Windows side, so the JIT team does not need a Windows machine to keep it working. ...

In my view, agents will be a "disproportionate force" and this will make things worse - initially for the restaurants (as they deal with this) and eventually may be for the patrons (restaurants switching to walk-in/ no reservations only, etc). You're right - something sensible is needed.

Is it just me or does the #OneNote ink features not work great on Android tablets like the #Samsung S11? The Samsung Notes app inks very well, so it's not the S-Pen at fault. #PC

Very interesting day of discussions at #railsworld! Introduced a few folks to JRuby, talked with some current users I did not know, even found one shop that only does JRuby. A bit sad to see folks struggling with problems JRuby solves. Hard to get the word out!

I agree. If one can claim to own tickets that an agent legitimately bought on their behalf to achieve a goal, I feel that you hold responsibility for an agent hacking something to achieve a goal that was set for it by you.

I feel there are probably comfort, convenience, privacy, togetherness, accessibility, and inclusive reasons why private or semi-peivate transport will make sense, but I'd love for there to be lower demand on the roadway networks and much of it to be met by transit.

All vehicles - it's to control vehicle population and its downstream impact on traffic congestion, etc. - not just from a "green perspective". There's a big push towards electric with ~65% of recently registered vehicles (last month or last quarter) being electric.

Mohit Sindhwani @onghu.com · 15/09/2026
I think there's been a steady increase but we are still capped at a total vehicle population of approx. 1 million vehicles (incl cars, motorcycles, buses, LCVs, etc.)

We do bus lanes occasionally on 2 lane roads also with allowance near the turning... yes, inconveniences cars but that's the side effect of prioritising transit
010
Mohit Sindhwani @onghu.com · 15/09/2026
For sure, if you have 2 lanes, then someone has to habe the courage to reserve a lane for buses only - if you have only one lane, then, you have only 1 lane
110
Mohit Sindhwani @onghu.com · 15/09/2026
Ya, we do a lot to have affordable, accessible and frequent transit - it's not intended to be "transit for the poor" but as a viable, comfortable and preferable mode transport for everyone.
030
Mohit Sindhwani @onghu.com · 15/09/2026
...and so, you complement it with schemes like bus lanes, bus stop priority exit, and bus priority traffic signals - even where you have cars.
210
Mohit Sindhwani @onghu.com · 15/09/2026
You're right - we are driven by the fact that 12% of our scarce land area is already road - excellent public transit is the complement to demand management measures such as expensive car ownership and usage schemes such as Electronic Road Pricing, taxes, etc.

My own experiments using AI for JRuby work have been mixed, but I can report a great success: contributions from people that never would have attempted such things before, like Ruby core devs and Rubyists with no JVM experience. So many PRs lately! github.com/jruby/jruby
