I adore anachronistic flair design like this, but there's also something Uncanny Valley about the hands. In comics where anything can happen, it provokes this subtle feel that the boxes could be "alive" the way Flash and Co. are. If the hands had less animation🤔... but then it wouldn't be as fun.

Review excerpt - Is Ted OK? is set about five minutes in the future, a world in which the dominant emotional palette appears to oscillate between paranoia and exhaustion. Another unavoidable sinkhole? Pervasive surveillance - as we see, our hero isn't actually Ted. Ted is the subject of 24-hour surveillance by Sarah, also working for the same massive conglomerate as Ted, the Ayn-Styne group. The corporations have abandoned any pretense of euphemism and are now watching everyone always, and drafting everyone else to do more watching on their own time.
