Maybe it's emotionally equivalent for them, because they know they're bad people who have done bad things, and fear accountability

Who has a better job: A person sitting around a laundromat collecting money, or A washerwoman who scrubbed fabric all day, whose hands are scarred and knotted from her work Now, it's true that there were many more washerwoman jobs than there are laundromat jobs today

A couple weeks ago, professor I know met with a congressional rep about his subject matter expertise. The university sent a babysitter to make sure he didn't say anything that could result in Trump admin retaliation.

Anyway, if I were that guy, I'd complain angrily to the municipality and local elected officials. It's sufficiently shitty that I think you could get the city to shut it down.

No one in the media wants to talk about how unserious it all was, but that doesn’t change the fact that we spent weeks in late summer 2024 hearing about how the main problem with Harris/the Dems is they weren’t offering enough detailed KTI policies or answering questions about them on tarmacs.

I genuinely mean this. I cannot imagine a more bleak dystopian notion than the idea of all art being turned into slop designed to coddle my exact perceived intentions. The point of literature, film, music, and art is to be exposed to the interior lives of others. Who are these people.

That makes me wonder what a guillotine would cost if they were a fully regulated part of the justice system and anti-corruption measures. I bet regulatory processes would bring it up to around $40,000 per.
