Amazing. The Trump administration simply refuses to deploy the power of the federal executive to compel lower drug prices when doing so would be both easy and popular. No enduring rules, just Trump deals. Overpromise, underdeliver. thehill.com/newsletters/...
Screenshot from the linked piece in The Hill:

It’s now estimated that the GLOBE model will save $440 million over seven years — a 96 percent reduction from the proposed version, which estimated nearly $12 billion in savings over the same period.

The payment model is mandatory, but there is a myriad of exemptions, most notably if a company entered a separate deal with the White House for “most-favored-nation” pricing in Medicaid.

In the end, only three companies are covered by the final model, a decrease from about 40 firms estimated in the proposed rule.

Pretty sure Paul LePage isn't the incumbent in ME-2 or any other district. Also maybe worth noting Pulido had won his primary outright before this announcement.
From the piece: "In a University of New Hampshire poll conducted in late February, three of the Democratic candidates—Baldacci, Jordan Wood, and Matthew Dunlap—had roughly equal odds against Republican incumbent Paul LePage."

Criminal intent and mens rea components of specific Michigan criminal statutes notwithstanding, I would not ever want to say or imply anything like this from thr bench: (From the WaPo board editorial regarding "Democratic lawfare in Michigan")
The fact that the Michigan case failed does not necessarily mean the federal case against Trump would also have failed. Simmons said that Trump’s election lawyers withheld meaningful information from the would-be Michigan electors. But her ruling still highlights a real problem with all of these cases: [Next sentence highlighted by OP] Though the Trump campaign’s challenges to the 2020 election were destructive and culminated in violence on Jan. 6, 2021, they were not a secret.

Fraud and forgery charges are therefore a poor fit for the alleged behavior. “Typically, [rest of quote sentence highlighted by OP] people who are seeking to defraud or deceive do not gather and make a spectacle of that,” Simmons said. That’s why it took prosecutors more than two years to bring indictments. These were a useful complement to Democratic political efforts to keep the 2020 election front and center. (Nessel got a prime speaking slot during the party’s national convention last summer in Chicago.)

She spends the rest of the article refuting that same suspicion and concludes that private companies are the actual problem. Where she falls short is failing to extrapolate that Republicans are lying about other "fraud" (e.g., elections) and that many other businesses are screwing their customers.
Excerpt from the same article's final paragraph:

Needy families are typically not engaging in Medicaid fraud—but providers, government contractors, and bureaucrats are. Pressures on Medicaid will only increase in the coming decades. A comprehensive audit that targets internal fraud and price gouging by government contractors and streamlines the bureaucratic behemoth is necessary.

O/U 6.5 months before this AUSA working on "land condemnation" along the border goes after the National Butterfly Center?
Screenshot from the Wikipedia article for the National Butterfly Center.

Section: US-Mexico border wall

Text: The proposed US–Mexico border wall is slated to pass through the grounds of the National Butterfly Center.[7][8] Filmmaker Krista Schlyer, part of an all-woman team creating a documentary film about the butterflies and the border wall, Ay Mariposa,[9] estimates that construction would put "70 percent of the preserve habitat behind the border wall."[2]Screenshot from the Wikipedia article for the National Butterfly Center.

Section: QAnon

Text: After a QAnon conspiracy theory spread on social media that the National Butterfly Center was smuggling migrants into the US, in late January 2022, Republican Congressional candidate Kimberly Lowe and her purported Secret Service Agent[17] visited the center referring to "the rafts with the illegal crossing" and to child rape, then reportedly injured the director, Marianna Trevino Wright, and almost struck her son with their vehicle. In response, the center closed for three days the following weekend as a precaution during the We Stand America rally nearby, and announced on February 3, 2022, that it would be closed indefinitely for "the safety of our staff and visitors".[1][18] The center reopened on Earth Day in 2022.[19]

Order text cites the Civil Service Reform Act but appears not to meet the law's criteria. POTUS has to determine that suspending collective bargaining is "necessary in the interest of national security" or that affected agencies have a primary national security work function. This EO says neither.
