I'm actually really happy with how this came out. My 1970 Dodge Challenger AWD offroad/apocolypse build. I was able to get it to idle and have a max RPM of 6000. It releases the throttle when you shift, and it reaches over 200km/h. I still want a working winch and diff lock.

So, Anymaker is in early access. As in, it was just released a few days ago, but the building tools are extremely good and surprisingly simple to figure out. I think I might get even more playtime in this than I did with Stormworks. Same devs btw. Now, the zombie survival aspect isn't good yet. 🤞

Made my first campfire last Thursday and cooked some Uncle Ben's and Campbell's Chunky Soup. I now know I didn't do it right. The logs took a long time to actually start burning cause I threw them on immediately, and they were still a bit wet, but it worked eventually.

Got a lot of progress on my charge controller. It's based on a few designs I saw. I made it modular for easy repairability. If I replace the first 5A current sensor with a 10A one, it would be capable of running a 96W (12V 8A) solar panel. It has two 4A outputs. One is converted to 5V 3A USB.

A longer recording of my first encounter with the little waterfall. I used my little digital camera. I prefer it for the simpler colour filtering. More accurate than my phone camera and gives a nostalgic home movie kinda feel.

Some photos from my trip yesterday. I cycled more than 80km(50 miles) and was out for about 10 hours. I got turned around a lot on the provincial park trails. Dead ends and trails that weren't on the maps.

More progress today!!! The boys are looking good. I really enjoy giving characters a country of origin, especially when it pertains to the animal chosen. The goat is a demon... so, I chose an area where there'd be cryptid sightings of him.

This is my old digital camera. It's not great, but I plan to use it for my trip. I think the 4:3 aspect ratio at 720p/30fps and mechanical zoom in the playback audio will be quite nostalgic. It also still has way better natural colour accuracy than whatever bullshit modern smartphones hallucinate.

A red, black, and gold 2005 Raleigh Tarantula 26" aluminum hardtail mountain bike. Size may be medium or large. It featured 2" tires, V-brakes, 48/36/26t Suntour crankset, a Sunrace 8-speed 11-30t cassette with the Shimano Altus groupset, and a suspension fork with 120mm of travel.

It hung upside-down in a garage untouched for 20 years.

The frame was too big for me to be used for mountain biking since the seat had to be slammed for me to reach the pedals.

The suspension fork seized during my first winter of commuting on it. My bad.

Early on, I replaced the saddle with something cheap and comfy. The stock silicone grips fell apart, so I put on some cheap compression grips. The mudguards were a necessary addition for rainy commutes.

Then, a ball bearing somehow escaped the bottom bracket.

With some research, I realized the geometry, although still a bit big, was perfect for a more road style bike, and I quickly became obsessed with everything bicycle. I decided I would do an old MTB to gravel build!

The stock wheels were swapped with 27.5" WTB DX18s with 40mm Continental TerraSpeed tubeless tires.

The brakes were swapped for a Shimano MT200 hydraulic brake paired with a 160mm Deore SM-RT56 rotor in the front and an Alivio T-4000 V-brake(extended) with Kool-Stop Salmon Pads in the rear and an Avid Speed Dial 7 lever. The rear rack I bought was not disc brake compatible, but I like that it's a bit unorthodox, and the cable actuated V-brakes offer more reliable functionality if the hydraulic fails.

The seized fork was swapped with 26" rigid Surly Troll fork. The steel feels nice.

The crankset is now a 165mm Microshift Sword 46/29t paired with its proprietary front derailleur, a Sunrace friction shifter, and OneUp composite pedals.
The rear gears are a direct generational upgrade with a Sunrace CSM98 12-36t 9-speed cassette with Shimano Altus RD-M2000 derailleur and M2010 shifter. It has extra capacity for up to a 40t max cog.
The bottom bracket, with much hassle to remove, was replaced with an outboard Shimano BB-RS501.

The handlebar and seatpost are both 49N components. I chose a butterfly trekking bar due to my inability to use a drop bar and discomfort with usual flat bars.
The stem was shortened from a 7-degree 90mm to a 17-degree 70mm and dropped by one 5mm spacer. This frame is very long by modern standards, and I'm just a little guy, so I really needed to shorten the reach on this thing. I did a lot of math and comparisons on 99 Spokes. The handlebar choice did most of the work.
Then, the saddle was finally swapped to something that actually fits my narrow sitbones. A 148mm MEC Provincial Road Saddle.

Also, the fenders and rear rack are Axiom.

Does anyone else here think that hazmat stuff and gas masks are really cool? I personally prefer the look of the Model 4 and 4A1 Israeli masks. That, the leather plague-doctor look, and some full-visor firefighter masks. I love the look of shiny yellow or white coveralls and high-vis orange/red.

Since it's Pride Month, I'll explain my feelings. I default to calling myself gay/grey-ace and use the MLM colours for simplicity and to define my most common feelings or most likely outcome. I can like more than that; it just probably won't happen. Inconsistent attraction makes it too difficult.

Chiseled out the notches into the dowels and learned the Japanese square lashing. I need more paracord. More edits to the design. Simplified it and realized backpacks attach lower. So latches that allow me to swap the strap position make sense to me. The chest pad wasn't necessary.

Refined the design even more. I don't currently know how I'll do the padding, but everything else is completely doable. I'm probably going to double or even triple rivet the leather straps. The ones over the shoulders will be the thickest and doubled up and stitches together. Need them to hold.

And here's the whole idea so far! I'd have to put grommets in the back of the jacket so I can have the harness under but still access the d-loops to attach the backpack. The rain poncho should have a kind of cape that can be rolled up and let out to act as a rain cover for the backpack.

This is what I've come up with so far for the harness/modular backpack/harness idea! Back brace for support and to stop the big ring from digging into my back. I'm thinking the underarm straps won't be leather. They don't need to carry as much load and can be better adjusted in that case.
