improvised a crude diffractive glass vtuber shader stack during last night's Skate Story stream to match the game a little bit more (processing mostly in OBS, with VSeeFace just sending the vtuber's normal buffer)

Streaming my first playthrough of Skate Story right now while trying my darnedest to convince viewers to donate despite everything going comically sideways for me. Come hang out while I try not to shatter! twitch.tv/ompuco

I do recall the context to this one, but it still makes me smile a lot lmfao

Hey y'all. Things have been getting a *bit* concerning as the usual monthly bills along with a few annual ones I forgot about have been ravaging my account, & I've been too busy while also away from home to really take the time to properly fundraise. Any help right now would mean a lot.

intensely cursed part: it even works with the windows media control modal (it also works on iOS but it really does not like constantly updating the artwork and seek position and stutters all over the place)

incredible size ballooned to 142kb on bsky's end and the background colors just blur into mush while elias stays sharp

12x scale test (will delete) original size: 35.2kb

okay one more test, this time with absolutely no compression (416kb)

at least the official google webp tools are functional

ompuco @ompu.co · 14/09/2026

god these vibecoded web tools are so embarrassingly shit lmfao

1120

ompuco @ompu.co · 14/09/2026

gonna try with a custom webp to see if i can prevent bsky from converting & compressing it on its own (also lets me choose the compression techniques) wildly even with lossless parameters, it's 2/3rds the size of the original PNG which is cool

testing one more time at the original resolution to see how well it fares, since i'm curious if it's based on image filesize or just color index size (as images with binary color values + alpha managed to be preserved before)

like a wild amount of chroma subsampling and structural lossiness
