Alright well you should play Awakenings and I recommend marrying Chrom because you get a unique scene at a key plot point, but yeah it is a little bit of a different dynamic. Still good though!

Awakenings has a lot of good mom stuff for the other female characters as well, if you so choose to pair them up and have future babies.

But, yeah, if you play a female character and choose to marry Chrom in Awakening (which I did, at first for power but I ended up really liking him) you get to play as a mom who's actively involved in the lives of her two kids which like you said is rare in games.

I was going to argue against this by talking about how in Awakening you are the mother of one of the main characters and it's handled really well, but then I remembered you have to make some highly specific choices in order for the story to play out that way so my experience was not universal.

I haven't read AoT or Vineland Saga, but yeah I think Robin fits what I'm talking about here! Although it's a little different because Robin ends up actively making the choice to live while the other two have life thrust upon them against their will.

What are some stories where ultimate victory over the primary antagonist comes in the form of denying them the chance to kill themselves? It happened recently in Sparks of Tomorrow and in Tokyo Godfathers, but those are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.

There are very clear indications in the text that the other guy absolutely IS into it, but if they're even slightly less blatant than the other guys then clearly the relationship just doesn't exist.
