You know as often as I've said my boobs are tiny and stopped growing, that's not really quite correct. They are, as best as I can tell, still growing (slowly), but they will probably forever be tiny.

The primary reason I make the suggestion is that I frequently see people with a lot of anxiety around the concept of consent and "getting it right", and I think they could use some direction in terms of forming a good heuristic for what consent functionally looks like outside an impossible ideal.

I guess if you were otherwise going to buy the furniture at someone else's rate, and instead you make it yourself with your own plans, maybe you're saving money somewhere, but then you're just not valuing your labor. It takes weeks to months to make something big and involved.

Making a table that you hypothetically could, were you a person in a position to do business, sell for 3,000 dollars doesn't give you 3,000 dollars. You pay hundreds in materials, and that's an expense to you that doesn't go away. It costs you hundreds of dollars plus labor to get the furniture.

Seeing clickbait woodworker videos that claim you can build your own 1000+ dollar furniture makes me a little annoyed, because like… if you're making it for yourself to keep, then that value doesn't really mean anything. You're paying in materials and labor and not selling the furniture.
