Yeah, you could say I'm a bit of a main stage gamer.

A Frosty Faustings registration showing that the only two events I'm registered for are Chicago's Mystery Tournament, and a second, more evil Chicago's Mystery Tournament.

When you listen to one of my mixes, this is who's spinning the tunes.

A funky B-boy rabbit, dressed in a stylish red cap, brown sunglasses, a green hoodie and khaki pants, with red-and-white sneakers, on a garish red-green-yellow striped background.

for those of you who are too young to remember a pre-Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication time, this is what the spectrogram should look like

spectrogram from the excellent 2024 reissue of Akio Niitsu's 1978 masterpiece I/O, showing some prodigious dynamic range of around +/- 10 dB

I love the extremely specific set of niche nonsense that has led to this being a beloved meme we post on Thursday ahead of Friday Sailor Moon locals.

A wahoo fish "stands" on a dark road at night, with the text "TOMORROW" in gold and red WordArt-style letters on the top, except they're definitely hand-painted. The text "WAHOO" in white in the lower right corner. This is an edit of William Onyeabor's "Tomorrow" album from 1979.

"I miss the good old days when games didn't ship with game breaking bugs" Old games:

Excerpt from the UK-printed manual for Sonic 3:
"Dr. Robotnik has created many diabolical traps which take advantage of Sonic's ultra-fast speed. Watch out for traps that Sonic cannot escape. If you fall into the wrong trap, you may have to reset the game (by pressing the RESET button) and start again at the beginning of the Zone you were last in. When Sonic is flashing (after being hit) don't let him travel too quickly."

This Friday June 5, come celebrate the 8th anniversary of Boston Sailor Moon S! We're going back to where it all started with an SNES mini and no adapters, just like old times. Come experience the magic we did after Combo Breaker 2018. Winner takes this copy of Daikatana!

A SNES Classic with its two controllers in front of it. Behind the SNES classic is a copy of Daikatana for PC. A brother laser printer is in frame because it is sturdy and reliable just like Jackie Sparkles is reliable as a Sailor Moon TO.

It's fun seeing the tricks magazines played with these press kits, too. Argentinian magazine Next Level uses a Donkey Kong render from Mario Party (CD 207) for their "The year of Rareware" feature.

A render of Donkey Kong standing on top of a treasure chest holding a very large orange-yellow piko-piko hammer.

Page 10 of Next Level (Argentina) magazine, featuring the exact same Donkey Kong render from Mario Party, but this time in a feature named "El año de Rareware" (the year of Rareware). Notably, one of the Conker Twelve Tales screenshots featured by VGHF in their post about the new GamePro dump is also here!

OmniRabbit @omnirabbit.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

Most mags appear to have taken their own screenshots. The only people who used press kit images were in Argentinian magazine "Next Level" , Page 16 of April 1994 issue: retrocdn.net/images/4/40/... It also features this fellow, so it's definitely the same source.

VER_A17.JPG from CD 239, depicting some kind of mad scientist with flames surrounding it.

Buried deep in an unsorted pile in CD 239 (Did Eidos ever hear of folders???) is high-resolution art for game "Vermin", which was announced, previewed in a couple mags (notably not GamePro!) and fell off the face of the earth. Only one of these images from the press kit pops up anywhere (left).
