🪵 2026/09/30 Had to get two medicines this morning which used up a big chunk of cash. Working on cleaning and doing some more packing, but it's getting warm enough today that I'm having difficulty functioning when I go outdoors. Will try to do some workshop work at some point also.

Got the patterning for the baffles done! Managed a nice tight grouping on the material with a healthy piece of leftovers for details, patches, gaskets, etc. ☺️⚒️

Cleaned up and slightly beveled all the edges. Got the hinge cut, rounded over, and waxed. Did a test stain with my walnut ink, but it looks terrible. Might just wax the whole bellows. Rubber cemented the hinge on since I'm out of other glue.

The wood pieces for the Bellows with the edges cleaned up and slightly beveled sitting in a metal chair.

A piece of scrap wood covered in a dirty looking stain of black walnut ink.

The triangle of the hinge rubber cemented and clamped onto the Bellows.

Wow, I really lucked out on this piece of plywood! No gnarly knots or voids! ...Especially considering I just had Dalila grab the top off the cheapest pile that would give me enough material but still fit in our ride's car without waiting in the 10-deep line to have a full-size sheet cut down.😳

🪵 2026/09/26 A friend sent some emergency funds so I could get to an urgent care visit... ...But I'm still trapped in the labyrinthine nightmare liminal space they opened a portal to when North Carolina privatized our Medicaid. 😰

OK I had to fight with my insurance providers website until my chest hurt but I think I managed to get it to spit out a list of urgent care providers I can
go to
10:05 AM
naturally when using their weird search function if you hit the big button that says find an urgent care none of them
show up in the results

10:31 AM well I tried calling one of the places and after fighting through an automated system it just rang for a minute or two and then hung up on me. Ran out of spoons for a while after that. Eventually found on that hospitals website that all of their urgent care locations were listed with a different number. I finally got the spoons together to try calling that and it just dumped me into an our office is closed
message.

The options my insurance returned were three of that hospitals urgent care offices, one practice that when you Google has moved to Kernersville, and then a bunch of results that just
have the word "Care" in them
37m OK putting it inside of quotation marks got me some better results since they
are returned in no discernible order
30m Aaaaand the next place I called was all oh yeah come on down as long as you're here before three until they asked what my insurance was and said they don't actually accept it despite my insurance company and their
website saying so
