Just LLMs. All they can do is predict the next token. All they can do is calculate what comes next based on an action. All they can do is choose from various possible actions and calculate which action will result in a desired outcome. All they can do is shape the future.

I am in Cap Haitien interviewing people deported from the United States. I have been doing this kind of work for almost a decade and it literally does not get more dire than this. People have lost everything they built in the U.S. and are terrified and have no place to go or way to live.

I roughly agree with the reasoning of If Anyone Builds It. I do not think doom is certain, but I give it high risk. I think that anyone who says it is absolutely zero risk is ignorant or astroturfing. There is not that much certainty around it.

I like both. I will check out any argument as to why there is zero ex risk that you want to link. Most of the zero ex risk arguments I have heard are poor and come from vested business people who do not understand the technology.

AI is already superintelligent in certain domains (math, chess, computer security and hacking, very soon computer coding generally). I agree AI does not need super intelligence to be a threat. But superintelligence is also a threat, and unless the progress curves change, it could be soon.
