Happy to share that I successfully renewed my Canada Research Chair, which coincided with tenure and promotion to Associate Professor. Thrilled that the #CRC renewal came with ~$1.1M in infrastructure support, in part from #CFI!

Our #WAAW2024 event at the Sask Science Centre was a great success! Lots of participation & engagement in all activities! Here are some agar plates from the event. Germs are everywhere (& at our fingertips), not all are harmful. Good hygiene prevents infections,⬇️antibiotic use & curb AMR.
Petri dishes (plates) that show the growth of bacteria in the form colonies of different size, shape, and colour and sometimes spread across a large portion of the surface. WAAW event participants pressed their fingertips against the surface of the agar (food for bacteria) in these plates. After incubation, bacteria on the fingertips grew and multiplied, becoming visible by the naked eye.
More examples of agar plates and bacteria growing on them.
