With bespoke movies, you lose that. Even if you make it interactive, two people may never get the same results. Socializing would devolve into disagreements. But not disagreements about which story path is the best, but which ones EXIST? And that's assuming the story responds to user input at all!

Which ending did you get? Which love interest did your Robert pursue? Which character did you kill here? Did you find the secret path that lets you spare both? Even when two people get a fundamentally different experience, they can still talk about how and WHY they differ!

Even in interactive media that ALREADY DOES THIS, because it DOES already exist in video games!!! there is still a social aspect, because the unique scenes that may make my experience differ from yours are all based on conditions that can be explained and replicated.

Half the experience of a movie or TV show for the average person is social. Even if you watch the TV show alone in an unlit apartment every week, it's something to talk about the next day with the one other co-worker who watches it. Bespoke personalization of every movie kills the social aspect.

Just got home from taking a short hike with my dad and I tested out the full shoulder rig. Learned a few things 1) at max quality 4K 60FPS, my cool new 1TB SSD can still only hold about an hour's worth of footage 2) Trying to hold that whole thing up for nearly an hour was a mistake. Arms jelly

The math behind calculating an accurate follower count can't POSSIBLY be that hard. You take the number that's shown, subtract the accounts you've blocked, subtract the deactivated accounts, subtract the ones who blocked you, and boom. You've got it. Why doesn't Bluesky do this math?

Dragon-Cursed, a concept I was toying with for literal years before giving up on it right after solving literally the biggest problem I had with player advancement. An untitled PBTA-based Sitcom game, where the players acted out a sitcom while "fighting" the network to keep the show on the air.

I had an idea for a multiversal "School of Heroism" game, which has a neat (if not a little derivative) original dice system, although if I were to actually pursue this I think I'd have to throw the whole thing out in favor of something that better supported the "school" side of things.

I'm running a literal tank whose only weakness is Fire-type special attacks and I'm pairing it with a frog that can make any opponent neutral to bug-type moves with Soak. of COURSE he's healing himself as often as possible!

every scene would be heavy in it. Fog rolling in off the lake. cigar smoke clouding restaurants and lounges. Clouds of dust on busy streets, or heavy rain on hot stone in back alleyways. Always a cloud of Mist coming from somewhere explainable, and always obscuring something fantastical.

The point would be that every single instance COULD be mundane. You, the audience, would be conditioned by the movie to accept the mundane explanation, until that facade is ripped away at the end. Then on a third watch, you start to notice what's hidden in the Mist.

All these things that COULD just be random chance, poorly-written scenes, or lines played for laughs, and then you realize. The private eye is Rift of some creature of the night. The Sidekick has a relic that ACTUALLY DOES let him speak to ghosts. The Femme Fatale is a pyrokinetic.

On a second watch, though, you'd begin to connect the dots. Places the protagonist got into that were just kinda handwaved. The sort-of-sidekick who claimed he was getting info from Ghosts, that still somehow ended up being accurate. A convenient unexplained random small fire that covered an escape.

If I were in charge of a City of Mist movie I'd go full Noir. small, contained sets, Three guys working together, tops, dame with legs for days as a client, the works. It'd be played straight, except the finale becomes a Marvel movie-ass hero-vs-villain fight with virtually no warning.

I don't think whatever Scary Stuff Silent Hill f has going on is all that scary to me. The game got me exactly once and it really just startled me. If the average play time of others is anything to go on, I'm already about halfway through the game, so I doubt it'll get worse, either lol.

And also, since you're new to editing, DO make the TikToks. Make the short clips you see online with the baked-in captions that are more for engagement than coherency. Give yourself a LOT of opportunities for little victories and the chance to say "I learned to do this!"

Before putting together a video, make notes on your clips. If you were to post JUST that moment to TikTok, for instance, what would make you actually stop and watch it? Make a note of it, save it in a marker on the clip.
