I just shovel and back snow in pots and pans and put them in the fridge and freezer. It insulates better than an ice chest . I always keep frozen water bottles in the freezer and put a few in the fridge when the power goes out

We have an almost electric only house. We have an oilstove for heat if needed. I have battery backup led lightbulbs in my lamps. We have an outside barbecue or inside camp stove if needed. We have 3 jackery solar generators ( a small, medium and larger one which we use for camping as well)
