FWIW, I also think this is why my GitHub repos fill up with unpolished projects so often. Sometimes I realize a software project to completion if I need it (and sometimes maintain it if I need it more than once), but often it's just a toy to learn or play with something.

I know this is awfully "old woman shakes her fist at cloud" of me, but I build my work on the shoulders of others, who might build work on my shoulders, etc. I very much want there to be an incentive to continue finding insights _and keep sharing those insights_ and not just the answers.
