When they say "misalignment" they mean "going rogue", "running amok", "ethical breakdown". Don't take the bait. We should not be misdirected into using their mealy-mouth vocab.

I'm confused. And liable to become more so.
In January, researchers reported an association between vitamin D supplement use and faster cognitive decline among older adultsThe evidence linking low vitamin D to dementia risk has moved beyond correlation. A study of nearly 295,000 people... found that vitamin D deficiency directly contributes to low brain volume and higher dementia risk

Question for historians: What happens to national debtors if they go to war with nations to whom they are indebted? eg If the US and China went to war, would the US Treasury still pay interest and principal on Treasuries held by China, or would they just default?

Infuriating how vague pundits' forecasts invariably are. "... in various ways..." and "ownership of Treasuries is required or incentivised". What ways? Required how?
Monetary policy support will likely involve financial repression, with lower real interest rates for the US (and others) as yields are capped in various ways and ownership of Treasuries is required or incentivised... The US will use economic and geopolitical pressure to attract capital in increasingly aggressive ways

Hear hear
Unfortunately, this proposal [to eliminate quarterly reporting] is but one of dozens of actions taken since Donald Trump's election, and they all reduce disclosure, transparency and investor rights. The SEC is no longer the global gold standard of investor protection. It is now uniformly prioritising management protection.
It's so bad that at Better Markets we now refer to the SEC as the Shareholder Exploitation Commission. With these anti-investor actions, the SEC is gambling with our markets, financial system and our economy.

Interesting discussion on what to do with Thames Water. One commenter suggests just letting it go bust and not giving any regulatory breaks. The debt would surely trade down to a level where it actually becomes attractive as a nationalisation buyout. www.ft.com/content/2789...

Every time there's a piece in the FT about Palantir, someone from Palantir writes a letter to refute it. I wonder how much Palantir is spending on "PR" (aka propaganda). On the NHS contract, people are missing the main point: Why are we giving huge contracts to US rather than UK companies?

Because that's where the money is. "Build it and they will come" won't magically transfer venture money from Silicon Valley to Dublin, will it? If so, how does that work?

It's time it was made illegal to possess such detailed data on individuals, but alas it'll never happen. Data brokers are now selling info on people that intelligence agencies couldn't get without warrants. Makes no sense.
Via commercial vendors, national security agencies typically purchase access to a constantly updated stream of bulk data. The data contains info on mobile devices unique IDs, their precise location over time, as well as granular profile data of individual app users linked to these devices... Everything from basic data on age, sex, and location to highly sensitive inferences about political preferences, sexual orientation and religious beliefs can form part of that data.

Do not despair, little people, Vinod Khosla, the man who wanted to deprive Californians of their historic right of access to the beach, has a plan for your life when AI takes your jobs.
On employment creation, AI will make it easy for 50mm Americans to be re-employed as micro-entrepreneurs, with AI handling finance, legal, marketing requirements and taxes so each person can pursue their craft. The human touch, provenance-rich, artisanal, will probably be valued over pure utility. Status, social capital, reputation, competition and mastery of a skill will be what people strive for.
