Hungary invaded and occupied Carpatho-Ukraine after its declaration of independence on 15 March 1939. This was one of causes of the Second World War. Hungary remained an ally of Nazi Germany. Today, Hungary is an ally of fascist Russia. It's ambition is to reoccupy Zakarpattia.
