Go to your camera roll and search “boat” and then post a picture of a boat you like.

That's got to be Peasholm Park in Scarborough. Been many times and yet to see the battleships in action.

Ah ok, I remember the Irish Centre, had a couple of good nights in there. A shame it's been unused since.

Saw many films at the ABC and remember the Everyman Bistro well. Where was the Wellington Rooms, I don't remember that?

Had a similar experience with a Yule Log Stout last year, first pint was delicious, second pint was too much.

2 nights in a row @laticsexile.bsky.social had long terms PCs die in my games. First Lost-in-Rushes died at the end of a lighting bolt in Dolmenwood, & tonight in Dragonbane Nimrym's fumble saw him down to death saves, & @dragongirl74.bsky.social's fumbled heal spell caused damage, killing him.

New varifocals? I picked mine up last week and I'm still not sure... distance is great, but struggling to get reading clear. May have to go back.

It was lovely to have so many colleagues from the university, undergrad & postgrad students, & folks from the gaming community come to our event celebrating the new editions of Cold City and Hot War. Frankly astonished that I got 40+ people to do Cold City situation creation at the same time!

Definitely, their historical knowledge and ideas were fantastic. There were lots of great idea from the other tables, hopefully will bring a good few more folk into the hobby.

Heading home from the Cold City/Hot War launch at LJMU with @malcolmcraig.bsky.social. Entertaining, educational and interactive. It's not my usual style of game but I'm intrigued and can see myself running it. Also great to have a local RPG launch in Liverpool!

TOR is another amazing game I've been playing and I'm running for my daughter and her boyfriend this weekend. Going to kickoff with Tales from Wilderland as that first adventure is a good one to start with.

My dev team have been using Amazon Kiro with different models over the last year and development is much faster than it used to be. We still have code review and QA processes because AI isn't that good yet. I wouldn't trust any software that doesn't have skilled developers significantly involved...

I watched the full video the other day, that weapon destroyed everything except the shield. Also recently watched Tom Cutler videos on the deadliness of slings and chakrams, fascinating stuff.

Old Scouse Roleplayer @oldscouserp.eurosky.social · 04/10/2026

😆 we have had a few PC deaths to be sure, the game is quite deadly. Skills only go so far to a long adventuring career and they won't save you from a critical in combat

040 4

Old Scouse Roleplayer @oldscouserp.eurosky.social · 04/10/2026

I usually do it at the end of each 2 hour session, although if we finish a session mid-action I don't bother. During the game I try not to ask for too many rolls either. I used to worry PCs would advance too quickly but I don't think it matters too much.

Sadly I don't have the first one I bought back in the 80s, I think it was the same edition that came with the Speccy game. I have a Harper Collins paperback from the 1998, a graphic novel version I think I picked up in the 80s, a deluxe edition with JRRs illustrations, and this version.
