#DidYouKnow? Recently, switchpalacecorner released a tool for dumping the firmware and filesystem from certain au by KDDI feature phones, making use of arbitrary code execution via the Picsel Doucment Viewer which is bundled with many of those kinds of phones. github.com/switchpalace...

For an unknown time period, the source code to various Danger OS games were available to "prospective developers" of the platform on CD-ROM. It is also unknown how many copies of the disc exist, and there are no backups of the disc available as of writing this post.
A photograph of the Danger Games Source Code CD in a red CD jewel case. The disc reads the following:
"Danger Developer Day 06

Usage of the source code on this CD falls under license included on this disc as LICENSE.txt and the Danger Developer License available at http://developer.danger.com."

Just when you think you've seen it all... Community member BHmsWare ran a port of the Linux kernel running on a #Samsung GT-E2210B! The purely serial console output shown was sent out of the phone's serial pins, but this on its own is a fun sight to behold.
A screenshot of BHmsWare's disbelief as console logs from Linux are sent via a Samsung GT-E2210B's serial port. The log reads the following:

1st post of 2026! The firmware from the Mobile ESPN version of the #Samsung SPH-A900 was dumped. Being that only 2 phones were released on this short-lived MVNO, one can say that every Mobile ESPN device has been dumped! Link on Dumbphone Repo as always: mega.nz/folder/2aoVn...
Hex editor screenshot of a Mobile ESPN-branded Samsung SPH-A900 firmware.
Some text visible in the screenshot says the following:
"Triage being done in GPS Mode? No such set %d srchtc_util.c Table size of 0 is inavlid!"
"May 22 2006 06:29:48 PLESPNA900 May 03 2005 12:00:00 A900.06 ES.A900"

The wallpaper is monochromatic, featuring various ESPN logos with a downwards shine on a black and grey gradient.

It feels like not much time has passed since I announced 1000 pages on LPCwiki, but somehow it's been doubled! Combined that with being cited in phone-related videos, it's nice to see what started as a project to share more detailed feature phone info grow as much as it has.
A cropped screenshot of https://lpcwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:Statistics from November 30th, 2025. Of note is the 2,166 content pages as mentioned in this post.

If you watched "The Deplorable Bootleg iPhone." from DankPods and wondered where he got info about a feature phone chipset, it was LPCWiki! Definitely not the first time it has been featured by YouTubers with a large fanbase, but it's always a bit mind-blowing to see this happen.

#DidYouKnow? User 1144822034 on GitHub has published an emulator for an MTK MT6252-powered phone called the Flyying IHD316. While I've been unable to get it past the idle screen, the fact this boots at all is no easy feat! The project can be found here: github.com/1144822034/M...
A screenshot of 1144822034's MT6252_Simulator project, running the firmware dump that comes with the package.
Shown here is an emulated MTK phone on the idle screen with a popup that reads "SIM卡2讀取錯誤" ("SIM card 2 read error") .

The #LG VX5300 joins the ranks of BREW phones with the ability to freely sideload unsigned apps! I have noticed that AppUI doesn't play nice with the "Verizon UI" pop-ups on this device, so it's best to be skipped here. Relevant links can be found here: lpcwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Running...
A photo of a Verizon Wireless-branded LG VX5300 on the "GET FUN & GAMES" screen, showing four apps that were sideloaded to the device. This was made possible by patching out the ESN and signature expiry date checks.
To those curious, the apps are:
- Ms. PAC-MAN
- PAC-MAN Puzzle
- Tetris
- PAC-MAN by Namco

*checks last post date* ...whoops! It sure has been a minute! If you're new around here, be sure to check out the wiki which started this account! LPCwiki has grown massively in size since it started in 2020. Here's some of my recent pics for said wiki :) lpcwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page
A photo of an LG L5100, flipped open displaying the main idle screen.
The wallpaper is of a house on the top of a hill, and a popup menu for calling and voicemail-related shortcuts is visible on the bottom of the screen.
Another photo of the same LG L5100 as earlier, except this time the screen is swiveled 180 degrees to hide the keypad.
The phone is able to tell when this happens, and rotates the screen to compensate.A photo of a Nokia 2160 powered on, showing the main idle screen.
The phone in this example is missing a few vertical screen lines, likely due to its age.
It also displays the text "NO SERVICE MSGS ONLY" and likely always will... as the TDMA networks this phone used are long gone.
A photo of a Nokia 5190 powered on in the dark, highlighting its green-tinted frontlight.
The phone is displaying the "Settings" icon on the set of choices, with a 1-bit icon of a checklist folder and a Nokia 5110.

A few months ago, I posted about the closure of thisisarecording.com, a massive telephone intercept archive going far back. I'm happy to report that it's back online, thanks to the fine folks who run telephoneworld.org! Visiting the site now shows lots more than before :)
A web browser screenshot showing what https://thisisarecording.com looks as of writing this post.
The web page is mostly white, and contains a large list of carriers with sounds belonging to them.

Some emulation news, a while ago asdf @oldphonepreserv.bsky.social dumped the previously-lost Puzzle Bobble for Sprint (J2ME) from a Samsung SPH-A900, and today Shinovon (author of KEmulator nnmod) pushed the fixes to make it playable on his emulator. Big props to everyone involved as usual. (1/2)

Recently, Rare Noggin Stuff dumped a Disney Mobile-branded #Samsung DM-S105, making it the second device on this MVNO to be dumped! As one would expect, nearly all of the graphics in the phone have been given a coat of paint from characters belonging to the mass media giant.

Two new feature phone firmware dumps thanks to keen456: #LG Octane and #Kyocera Domino! The S1310 is notable as being late in Kyocera's mobile life, yet was before their Sanyo merge. As a result, the firmware structure and proprietary libraries look a fair bit different...
