A Dream of White Horses. That's me - the little figure on the rock near the centre of the photo fulfilling a long-held ambition. A little late on in life but finally got there. #rockclimbing

This the former Wain Common labelled as Waun on the old 1840s map. No longer common land and now with ghost enclosure field boundaries. Designated Open Country and still nice habitat although heavily trampled by cattle in winter. You can see Redgate towards bottom left of old map.

Had my first Chicken of the Woods a few days ago. An actual fungal chicken living in a tree. Very tasty and so chickeny.

Red moon rising tonight for the second night in a row. Any redder and it will surely drip blood. Something serious coming. (Poor photo alert).

A quick trip round some mid Wales hills on the Mutt 250. Little bikes + little roads = fun, adventure and really wild things.

Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary at my local isolated colony. I'm trying some larval foodplant introduction from local seed sources in the hope of increasing the available breeding habitat. Small steps. #UKButterflies #UKWildlife

Hello. Here is a photo of my favourite butterfly and the one I studied for the best part of 10 years. Chequered Skipper Carterocephalus palaemon.
