Goodbye, 563! 👋 Hope to see this again in future, a very impressive engine. This coming from a staunch North Easterner is almost blasphemy! Still, it's got a canny amount of brass so...acceptable. 😛

The road engine gets their name! I was a little worried the silicone wouldn't hold, but it did at the highest temperature and so the nameplates stayed on haha. Pretty happy with the result! 👍

Burned out again this weekend past, only managed to doodle one unfinished...doodle? I guess. Still, got a bit of time off work coming up, so perhaps then I'll get back on the waggons.

Unfortunately I ended up struggling to finish the last round of comms, they're done but I'm burned out. Hopefully next weekend I can perhaps get back on track. (aharr.)

Sorry for the quiet spell. It's been a week, huh. Hopefully we'll be back on the art track tomorrow.

No art for this week folks, I'm hoping to get back onto it Sunday. Work is uh...well, work. Also I'm partially blind until I get my new glasses haha.

Four comms painted. They didn't turn out too bad, and skipping the lineart part and just painting them saves a lot of time haha.

Well, it's the weekend, so time for a cheeky bit o' art innit. (I really need to come up with a new streaming image for these posts) www.twitch.tv/old_coal

No art today sadly, work absolutely put me through the wringer, and more tonight. However, this weekend I'll be streaming and hopefully finishing up some commissions! Not sure when exactly but...I'll be on. Possibly around 7pm GMT.

0145

Old Coal @oldcoalengine.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Thanks to those who commissioned, my friend has made rent. However, once these are done I'll be opening slots to a few more I think, as a way to keep me streaming etc.

Well, it's been a frustrating weekend; wrestling with sleep, stream broadcasting tools misbehaving and not getting as much art done as I'd have liked before work came around again. Still, I appreciate all who have watched my somewhat limited streams, and chatted. I do enjoy the company. 👍

Sorry folks, technical difficulties. For some reason my stream keeps restarting after two or three minutes, no idea why so far but I'll have to can the stream for now. It sucks, but there we go.

I'll be doing art on and off today! First up is a test to see if I can do something I don't usually. (It's still trains though.) www.twitch.tv/old_coal

I'm thinking about doing some silly little train comms to help a friend out. Sort of an updated art version of these ones that were so popular on Tumblr back when I was there.

That feeling when you get out of a cab, and after it drives off realize your phone fell out of your pocket. Got it back, driver was a diamond, but I almost had a heart attack this morning.
