Another breakbeat track I’ve enjoyed for a good minute. Anything by or involving Plump DJs is gonna be 🔥🔥🔥. youtu.be/kOdeGvgsp_o

I’m a need to go record hunting for some of the tracks on that album. But also, I wanna get some more Chicago house records… But also, breakbeat & electro…

I guess I gotta get my vinyl game up by next year… Time to bug the local record stores more to practice on their equipment & get some more pointers. Might need to get some local friends together so we can screw around on my bootleg setup too, lol.

A great reminder that this is a wonderful time to get back* into physical media. Our local thrift stores are overflowing with used $3 DVD's and FB marketplace will have $20-$30 Blu-Ray/DVD players aplenty. Your kids will not care if it's 480p. *some of us never left

I have a lot of warm, fuzzy feelings about FM that I'm still trying to untangle and post about, but truly magnificent conventions like this one are wonderful reminders that "community" is what happens when a bunch of strangers move in shared spaces together with shared goals.

Ed Sheeran needs to learn that if you don’t “pick a side”, you’re picking the side of the oppressor. Every single time. It’s that simple.

But here’s the thing: 1. You can’t get to that “perfection” if you don’t put in the effort to get there & get that feedback from folks. 2. Ain’t shit ever gon be perfect… & that’s part of the enjoyment.

Rumpshakers, Inc. @okrahound.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I’ve tried to be more bold about it, but I’ve been hesitant about posting stuff where I use mediums I’m still tryna get familiar with. Partially cause I always want shit to sound perfect.

Less algorithm involvement makes for some more ingenuity Whether it sound immaculate or not And there’s something beautiful about that

Know what? I think it’s time to start up streaming again… Lemme find all my cables & allat right quick… It’ll give me more incentive to practice spinning vinyl (& CDs).

OMG. Ahsoka very hesitantly let me pat her, and then! she headbutted me! And purred! And loooooved her pats! And asked me for MORE PATS. I am so thrilled. This girl hasn't let anyone touch her before and she's probably nearly 2.

This last weekend’s gig was definitely a confidence-booster. I didn’t think that the breakbeats & electro I was spinning would have that much of a positive reception. 😭😭😭 I’m bringing more house music next time, though.
