⚠️ Up to 20 mm of rain, possibly intense, is expected Friday on wildfire-affected terrain in the North Okanagan, (e.g., Bradley Creek). Fire-altered soils repel water, trigger dangerous debris flows, road washouts (e.g., Westside Rd), and ash runoff into local water systems and bodies. #VernonBC

🚨Okanagan boaters get the f* out of the fire suppression support zone! BCWF: Aerial resources supporting crews on the ground are experiencing challenges with boaters getting too close to our aircraft as the pick up water on Okanagan Lake. #VernonBC
Aerial resources supporting crews on the ground are experiencing challenges with boaters getting too close to our aircraft as the pick up water on Okanagan Lake. Our aircraft require space to collect water safely and efficiently. Please stay clear of aircraft working in and around the lake.

If firefighting aircraft are nearby, clear the area immediately and stay near the shore to avoid interfering with operations and to prevent putting responder and public life and safety at risk.
