Quite evident Republicans are thrilled they have a deal to weaken bedrock environmental laws—the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, & National Historic Preservation Act. This bill is one of the greatest attacks on environmental protections in U.S. history.

This "dirty deal" would raise electricity prices by accelerating the buildout of energy-guzzling AI data centers and liquefied natural gas export projects, raising demand for gas to levels that can only be met through more $$ production.

‼️ Today, the Senate unveiled a permitting reform bill that would make it easier for fossil fuel + tech companies to steamroll community opposition to their polluting, climate-wrecking projects. This bill would benefit Big Tech and Big Oil, not working families.

The EU can break free from gas, but TotalEnergies’ LNG imports threaten climate goals: ▪️ EU climate goals aim to reduce fossil gas demand, but TotalEnergies aims to increase its LNG imports into Europe, build new gas-fired power plants, and expand its global gas production.

The EU can reduce energy prices, but As Europe’s largest LNG importer, TotalEnergies risks exposing consumers to rising gas and electricity prices: ▪️ Just this year, EU fossil gas prices doubled. U.S. LNG is already the most expensive for EU buyers, and is projected to become more expensive.

Freeport LNG has released almost 1500 lbs of benzene into the Freeport community in just ONE year. That's the same amount of benzene as in 12 BILLION cigarettes. It would take Freeport residents smoking 156 packs a day for a year to get an equivalent exposure to benzene.
