The good news is that he was extubated today and was able to let us know what he wanted to do after thinking about it. The part that broke me was that he apologized because this was happening, but I assured him he has nothing to be sorry for. We had our ups and downs, but he'll always be my dad.

Given what results also came out of the fluid cultures, the types of bacteria growing inside along with an anastomotic leak, most of them are resistant to antibiotics. Even if he was at a young age, the odds of coming out of that along with a surgery to fix what's wrong is just slim to none.

We finally have him in palliative care. One of the nurses showed me the CT scan of the abcess and there's just no way anyone could survive it. Literally it starts right under the sternum and goes all the way down to his bladder while stretching across his abdomen. The side profile is half his width.

Rather than waiting months and months for a surgery that has a higher risk than operating on him now, it's clear that there's nothing surgically we can do. It sucks. Cancer is awful, even when one "beats" it because the price eventually catches up. #FuckCancer

So we're at the point of palliative care in regards to my dad. A lot of the issues are just insurmountable. With anastomotic leak(s), issues with healing due to radiation from having colon cancer ages ago, he's really been through it.

Thanks. It's been a rough few weeks trying to get him to heal up from what's going on, but it's sounding more and more that because of the radiation he had when he had cancer, that it's just catching up to him.

There's a lot of moving parts, especially with dad's condition. The surgical team has already gently told me that there may be nothing they can do for him and that was on the 18th of last month as well as on the 28th. Hoping for the best, but I'm also rushing to prepare for the worst.

Hug your loved ones. Get their paperwork done, and yours. Make sure things are settled. My folks didn't, so I'm rushing and scrambling to finish all of that because they "thought they did them" and didn't. Make for sure that everything's done in advance. I still don't know how active I'll be.

So things have taken a turn for the worse again. I've a suspicion it's going to be a really bad year here. For those that are wondering, my dad is pretty sick. This is the second time he's mottled, this time past his thighs. With my mom also not in so good of shape—it's a lot of heaviness.

Am hoping so too! I've been in regular contact with my dad's general surgeon over this particular issue and since his symptoms are more mild, he recommended that my dad would get better care/comfort at home. But if things got worse, to call him so he can try to move some mountains to make it work.

Oh, it's pretty easy! Once you get the dracaena cinnibari—it's a matter of just getting it to dissolve in alcohol (preferably the highest ABV you can get, but it has to be above 90%). The easiest to get a hold of is Isopropyl at around 99% which I used as the solvent to dissolve, and then added—

So I combined the batches of the dragons blood ink base I made since they were nearly identical with consistency... Almost two pounds of the stuff (over a pound and a half). I could probably fill that entire grimoire with it. With the other variations of inks, it's pretty simple to create them—
