Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 18hX has (had? who knows...) a feature to mute for a day, a week, a month, or forever. Here's hoping Bluesky adds it soon. 110
Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 18hIt's happened to my feed too. Rather suddenly, as in I feel like it started barely a week ago. 020

Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I have a better analogy - It's that moment when you step into the shower and the hot water caresses your head and shoulders. 000
Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Listening to Miles Davis' "So What". That moment after the intro, when that classic melody drops, is like a massage. 110

Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I buy Marks & Spencer digestive biscuits from a store in England. I pay for part of the tariff increase, and they deliver via DHL who has added an Iran war-specific fuel surcharge fee. 110

Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Bosses wouldn't have to respect or be kind to an AI assistant. 100
Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I believe that AI could do the job, and agree that it would not do it well (word choice, tone, etc.). At least at first. This next part is of course my opinion - I believe that AI will continue to get better to the point that it will be able to do these things better and better. 000
Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The software education field is, to me, another unexpected consequence. 000
Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 29/09/2026No, I'm agreeing with you that clerical work is female-coded and denigrated. I still think a lot of clerical work can be out-sourced to a skilled program. 100
Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Yep. My software development background actually helps me come to that conclusion. What part of the admin job did you think AI would have trouble with? (Keeping in mind, of course, that my list was incomplete due to the character limit.) 110

Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I take such comfort in my little henhouse. It's large enough for me to sit inside, feeding them by hand, and I spend time every day there. Watching them hunt and peck, hearing their gentle clucking, it's all very soothing. Each hen has her own personality; there's a definite hole without my Sussex. 140

Susan @ohbejoyful.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Oh, I agree - businesses should think long and hard about replacing public-facing workers with machines, AI, etc. My job was in-office, not a receptionist. 110
