We’re looking for someone to help out with our socials! We would like to provide regular updates here and on tumblr (blog yet to be created), and possibly other socials. Ideally looking for someone who could commit to updates every few days (or as much as you want). Please reply or dm if interested!

Happy to report that things are still in the works on this project! We’re still in the planning phase and hopefully will be able to start contacting volunteers to begin the downloading phase.

Hi thanks for filling it out! Yes and no. I contacted some of the people who had relevant experience (like archival work, tech work) to start so that we could plan out how to do this. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a plan in place in the next few weeks and we can start this up FOR REAL.

Just a reminder if you’re in the discord to answer @aspirantabby.bsky.social’s request for times you’d be available for a meeting, if you want to be involved in planning. And if you’re not in the discord yet and want to be involved in planning, please feel free to join! Link in bio

Oh I think you meant for this to be for @kellykat53.bsky.social! They reposted this, this isn’t their account. I’m not sure if reposters get notifications for replies actually so tagging them just in case so they can see your love!

I've contacted those of you who signed up and identified yourselves as having ✨special skills✨. If that was you, please look out for it! Some I contacted through email, some through discord, and some through dms here on bsky.

If you're interested in learning more or participating in an effort to ensure OFMD fandom creations are preserved in case of Ao3 and other fandom sites going down as a result of the current US political situation, please fill out this form! #ofmd forms.gle/3fNwFqVHGD3A...

would love to hear any ideas you have about hosting sites, the best tools for downloading/uploading fics, methods for archiving things like smaus not crossposted to ao3, etc. In the meantime feel free to fill out the form pinned to this account if you haven’t yet and are interested!

a FAQ to post and send out to everyone who’s interested, so keep an eye out for that in the next few days! Those of you who said you had experience or relevant skills, I’m probably going to contact you separately because tbh there’s a lot I don’t know about re the practicalities of this and I+

I have some ideas for what we could use to house the metadata for the fics like libib or notion, but I’m open to suggestions! We’ll talk more about details soon, after sign ups slow down

Ughhhh rare books and manuscripts 🤤 Yeah, I have some tools I’ve been using. I use Calibre to download stuff (you can download multiple fics at a time from just the url) and I’ve been using Google sheets just for my own stuff I’ve read, but I’d prefer to get away from Google if possible

This project is open to anyone! Archiving means preserving everything. Any characters, any ships, any topics. Controversial or beloved. Any personal preferences or biases should be put aside. Archiving isn’t about judgement or only saving what we like. We want to save *everything*.

Coincidentally, the creator's name (Ally) is short for Alexandria 😂

Important to note: I am one person with a master's in library and information science. I'm not an expert in digital archiving, politics, technology, etc etc. I sooooo welcome anyone who has ideas or wants to help organize to contact me!

The current goal of this project is to archive all OFMD fanworks on AO3. Ideally, this would eventually expand to also include works hosted on other sites like twtfics, skyfics, podfics, smaus, fanart, etc.
