Summary:

Locked into step, sweat-slick anticipation greasing the joints of their armour and unacknowledged fear hardening their muscles, they were impenetrable. Packed against their brothers-in-arms in a bronze wall. The sharp clang of metals locking against each other pushed with their leather footfalls. All at once rushing. Cohesive.

Viktor’s thigh screamed, tensing impossibly tight against itself and trying to pull further. The humidity of his own breath condensed against the flat of his face plate. Too quiet and too loud and too humid and too dry. Dizzying contradictions pushing him against the others in his phalanx.

Jayce and Viktor are drafted into the Sacred Band of Thebes — a formidable force in Ancient Greece comprised entirely of lovers that faced Sparta and won.

Summary:
Jayce had gone missing years ago. Lost to the feverish pursuit of something in the same mountains that had almost claimed the lives of him and his mother decades past. Viktor, alone, dying, and desperate to find out what had taken Jayce follows the coordinates left in one of Jayce's coded journals.

Viktor doesn't expect to come back, but he couldn't have expected what waited for him in that cave. Memory folded like Damascus steel, and he can feel Jayce inside of it. Or something pretending to be him.

Summary:

Why Do I Ache? Orufrey fic description.

Text as follows:

No Archive Warnings Apply, Olruggio/Qifrey (Tongari Boushi no Atelier, Olruggio (Tongari Boushi no Atelier), Qifrey (Tongari Boushi no Atelier), Pining, Loneliness, Olruggio feels like he's being so selfish for wanting anything more than he already has, Emotional Hurt/Comfort

Olruggio pressed his cheek harder into his forearm. Tears gathered on the bottom of his eyes again. "I have no right to feel like this, Qifrey." His dark eyebrows tensed, face crumpling again. A sob wracked through him. "I have no right. "
Something cold and ugly twisted in the pit of Qifrey's stomach. He tried to push any words out of his throat, but they stubbornly stuck against his teeth.
Qifrey finds Olruggio poured against the floor of the inn they were staying in, grappling with the ache of loneliness.

Olruggio seems to have been knocked out or is sleeping against Qifrey, the top of his head tucked in securely just under Qifrey's cheek. One of his hands is gently curled against the other's chest. Olly has lost his cap.
Qifrey is staring directly at the viewer. He's lost his glasses but he is desperately holding onto Olruggio with a tight, clawing grip. He doesn't want to lose the other. The tassel on his cap swings around them as Qifrey's cloak covers Olruggio protectively.
There's a gold halo or medallion behind them. Lighting coming from the right. A watercolour paper texture has been overlaid on them.

A concept from my sketchbook for a potential Orufrey piece from Witch Hat Atelier.
Olruggio (left) and Qifrey (right) face away from the viewer so only the backs of their heads and shoulders are visible. It shows their necklines and the push of their necks. Olly's neckline is shorn, with it going into a longer cut as it moves up the back of his head. His neck is thin, from overworking and undereating. The neck of his robe is loose across his shoulders, and there is the beginning of a dripping star motif across the back.
Qifrey's curls get a little more unruly at the back of his neck, and his neck isn't quite as thin as Olruggio's, though the vertebrae of his spine stick out from his skin. He isn't healthy either, just in a different way. The back of his robe is in a V shape, hanging off of him. There is the beginning of delicate leaf motifs intending to be embroidered in the fabric.
Between them, nearly hidden in the construction line colour, is the memory erasing spell that Qifrey has adapted.

A marker portrait of Malik Al Sayf from Assassin's Creed 1. He's in his master assassin's robe pre-solomon's temple. He's frowning, seeming to be unhappy with something that he's seeing off to the left, but mostly neutral. He has handsome heavy eyebrows sitting low on over his eyelids, and hard bags under his eyes. Malik also has a prominent nose with a soft hooked bridge, which makes his frown look more like worry or concern than anything else. His dark hair is a little messy but still short with a bit of a widow's peak part.

The fuck ass isu bullshit apple of eden is off to the right of his head with some saturated orange artifacting around it.

I've gotten brainworms about #Endoparasitic again. Cynte and Karis mean so much... These are two scenes from two different fics! I will link below (:

A monochrome drawing of Cynte from Endoparasitic. It is a scene from the fic "Ruling Hypothesis" by Frillshark. Cynte is clutching a piece of paper (a letter from Karis), his shoulders bunched up. He is crying. Light illuminates him from a freshly opened door, and he is snarling out the words: "You heard me! Get out! Get out!". He's wearing a basic button down and slacks. There is minimal objects other than Cynte in the room, just enough to suggest a dresser.

Overall grey-blue hues colour the simply shadowed drawing with rough lines. Cynte and Karis from the game Endoparasitic embrace on a small cot. Cynte is thin, and pressing one of his cheekbones into the top of Karis' hair while the other is snuggled in on his chest. Cynte's wearing a sleeveless sleeping shirt and his cauterized stump is still reaching toward Karis in the habit to embrace the other. His remaining arm is curled protectively around the back of Karis' neck. Karis has his mutated arm resting over Cynte, the parasite boils having ripped the shirt he's wearing and also started pushing through his hair where they're developing on his face. He has a small, contented smile from having Cynte so close again even if just for a moment.

Mage Viktor holding onto Jayce Talis, who is cuddling in close with his face hidden in the crux of Viktor's neck. Jayce has his legs pulled up into his body and underneath the expanse of Mage Viktor's robe. Chasing the warmth and affection.

They are in a pose inspired by the pietà. Snow floats down through the length of the piece. An anomaly creates a halo around Viktor and Jayce's heads on the rocks behind them.

Viktor's hands gently rest on Jayce's shoulders. He has an expression of melancholy with a tear trailing down his cheek and dripping off the end of his chin.
Viktor couldn't bear to leave Jayce in the ravine when it started snowing. The small fire Jayce had managed to make illuminates the pair of them, and the rocks of the ravine surrounding them.

The timeline failed but they found momentary comfort in each other again.
