Those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Although it feels like the clock is turning back, we must resist despair and fight for our democracy.

#OTD In 1955, 14-year-old Emmett Till was brutally murdered for allegedly whistling at a white woman. His death, the acquittal of his killers & his mother's courage in holding an open-casket funeral helped awaken the movement. We carry his memory with us to the Lincoln Memorial today.

You do not need a title or a platform to build the Beloved Community. You need to show up for the people around you, again and again. That is what a living legacy truly is: not something we leave behind, but something we practice daily through connection, service, and love.
