Oh I had such a faff with Tiny Dragon who was also a CSA starter. Receptionist flatly refused to believe that she could be vaccinated there since she "should" be in school. Had to absolutely dig my heels in and escalate!

Ok, thanks, I think we are on the same page after all! I'm afraid I'm badly jaded by how many discussions get to how if anyone perceives not being safe, that's the end of the discussion. (Which also as a queer person... "women as fragile flowers" is currently being used to do a lot of serious harm.)

My daughter has really started to want to cycle herself everywhere, and fully joined up routes are so key! It's so frustrating when a lovely section means some horrible getting-there bits.

I get that everyone has different histories, but I hate how often, "but women can't be out in the dark!" gets used to hold back our options. Many of us don't have cars and have spent decades getting to where we need to be anyway.

Both of us separately have a day a week where we cycle back from Oxford to Abingdon at around 10pm via the towpath and NCN5. Much prefer it then to the stress of it being filled with pedestrians in the daytime, frankly.

Okay, I have FINISHED the fic I wrote 30k words of in 2022, before coming to a toddler-brain-related writing halt. Finally picked it up again a couple of months ago, and it's finally complete at just under 50k. Second longest thing I've written. I'm really proud of myself for this.
