@chrismcobble I mean, Amazon/Alexa solved this a decade ago. And their solution isn’t dB, it’s literally the characteristics of a whisper vs normal speech. I could ‘shout’ using a whisper and it would reply in whisper. I could also talk quietly and it would talk back to me.

My Now Playing prop with Elvis Costello’s My Aim is True LP sleeve in it. Ok, so I won’t go out in public like this, but I found out I can put one pair of my sunglasses over my prescription glasses so the sun doesn’t murder me. But yeah, I would like my eyes to stabilise so I can get prescription sunglasses ASAP.

Driving with the new spectacles is fine, but everything has a strange telephoto-like compressing/foreshortening of distance. This will make stairs and such kinda weird for awhile. Similarly, near-mid distance objects feel like they’re 2-3 feet closer than they really are.

On a train to pick up my glasses. And of course I forgot my headphones. No longer commuting means I rarely wear headphones anymore, so it’s no longer second nature to pick them up along with keys/sunglasses/hat.
