So who actually believes Trump has ever pushed a shopping cart around a grocery store or filled up a car with gas? Stop anyone coming out of a grocery store and you will find someone knows more about inflation than Trump.

Likely the average Trump voter has never thought about what owning the means of production indicates. The only thing they know about communism is it is evil.

Trump says it is nothing more than a PSA which is complete BS. "But unlike a public service announcement, this ad — and others like it — aren’t promoting a government program or service. They exist to glorify President Trump: to love him, as the song suggests."

Don’t agree with the defense of Collins but love “ Voters should say to many Republican incumbents what Oliver Cromwell said in 1653 to England’s Long Parliament: ‘You have sat here too long for any good you have been doing … Depart, I say, and let us have done with you.’” wapo.st/4rJUKBZ

Opinion | Bring on the midterm GOP carnage. But spare these two Senate candidates.

It is sensible to hope that on Nov. 3 most of the Republican Party will be smashed to atoms.

Some good news for those of us in NC who have had to keep the mute button close at hand to silence Whatley's lies about Roy Cooper. NC certainly doesn't need a former Republican lobbyist pretending to do the people's work while making the rich even richer and the corporations even more profitable.

Never trust a number the Trump administration. I fact checked this and the WSJ reported on the change in the formula in July but this is first chart I have seen comparing old and new calculations. Story seems to have been mostly ignored.

"Linda Bilmes, of Harvard, developed a methodology for assessing the long-run costs of U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Of the Iran war, she is “certain” the eventual total will reach $1 trillion once the government counts veterans’ disability and health care costs." (www.aei.org/commentary/t...)

It is the proper way to address a Senator. His recent resistance to Trump earned at least that provisionally. He has a chance for it to replace traitor if he does something after the midterms.

A core value of today's Republican party is that there should be no accountability for people who help you get re-elected.

Think about what Trump's team has closed at the CDC. Easy to understand his priorities. "Entire divisions have been shuttered, including teams that worked on smoking, sexual violence, child abuse and falls among older adults.”

Fall garden looks very different. Brochure says Dragon's Breath will get 32 inches high in optimal conditions. We must be super optimal because the plants are over three feet tall. Yard definitely needs haying.

Having a grifter in charge of the American economy was never a good idea. His record shows at least 10 failed business ventures while filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy six times. Those who ignored his financial record to shake things up, well how do like our shaken-up economy? Not so much I suspect.

You cannot get any more Republican than these two who voted against ending the war and then went home and hope the voters will believe they want the war ended. It is always wise to watch what this generation of Republicans say and measure it against what they do.

If the refineries keep diesel production going at full throttle, they would rapidly run out of places to store it and have to reduce production. This is a complicated market. Using a sledgehammer to ban exports would likely have unintended consequences. www.marketplace.org/story/2026/0...

"Not such a great idea": How banning diesel exports to lower prices could backfire

Some senators and governors are calling on the Trump administration to temporarily ban diesel exports to boost domestic supply. Experts say it might not work as well as they hope.

The mobile motel that we used for three months in the summer of 1970 on our Alaska trip. This is somewhere on the Alcan Highway, just before we left Alaska. Snow was falling on the upper levels of the mountains by the time we left in late August. We did make it back in time for our senior year.

One of my favorite shots of a pileated woodpecker at the coast. We actually heard one morning not long ago here at our Piedmont home. You ever get a good look at pileated, you should be easy to convince that they are related to dinosaurs.
