Never trust a number the Trump administration. I fact checked this and the WSJ reported on the change in the formula in July but this is first chart I have seen comparing old and new calculations. Story seems to have been mostly ignored.

Fall garden looks very different. Brochure says Dragon's Breath will get 32 inches high in optimal conditions. We must be super optimal because the plants are over three feet tall. Yard definitely needs haying.

Having a grifter in charge of the American economy was never a good idea. His record shows at least 10 failed business ventures while filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy six times. Those who ignored his financial record to shake things up, well how do like our shaken-up economy? Not so much I suspect.

The mobile motel that we used for three months in the summer of 1970 on our Alaska trip. This is somewhere on the Alcan Highway, just before we left Alaska. Snow was falling on the upper levels of the mountains by the time we left in late August. We did make it back in time for our senior year.

Dodge Powerwagon with camper top and beds, our kitchen was on the tailgate. That's a much younger me (56 years younger) behind the truck. I am wearing my Strike button from the previous spring when we closed down Harvard.

One of my favorite shots of a pileated woodpecker at the coast. We actually heard one morning not long ago here at our Piedmont home. You ever get a good look at pileated, you should be easy to convince that they are related to dinosaurs.

In the mid-70s when I was raising Angus cattle in Canada, I built 2 large pole barns, 128 ft. X 41 ft, and 69 ft X 64 ft. I built them with the help of two neighbors, both over 70 & two hippies. None of us had ever built a barn. Barns are still there. Picture is me & Boiled Owl, AKA Charlie Campbell
