We had a great time working with CFL RECON this morning to clean up Lake Ivanhoe, just north of Downtown Orlando. We removed 300 pounds of trash from the lake and shoreline! The Enviro Caucus loves partnering with local orgs to keep Florida green 💚🦢 #ThinkGreenVoteBlue #Orlando #CentralFlorida
Four people stand behind a folding table set up near the shoreline of a body of water. They are all wearing shirts for the Orange County Democratic Environmental Caucus; the table has a caucus tablecloth over it and has materials to help people check their voter registration or get more info about the caucus. A diverse group of people are gathered in a park near a lake shoreline; they are holding a batter for Central Florida Recon. We can see kayaks, life jackets, and trash collection bins in the background. Two women are striking a pose, standing back to back, as they prepare to start collecting trash. They have gloves, trash pickers, and buckets. A Black man is kayaking away from us; his kayak has a trash collection bin strapped to the front of the kayak.

DeBary staff warns state bills could shrink local control and revenue
City staff told the council that multiple Florida bills under consideration—on accessory dwelling units, transit-oriented development, the Starter Homes Act, and elimination or reduction of tangible personal property taxes—could limit local land-use authority and reduce municipal revenue, potentially requiring DeBary to raise rates or use non-ad valorem assessments.
