Three full body pencil sketches, two of jeans with flowers on them and one of a dress with a dress and leggings. Around the dress sketch are detail shots of the earrings

Three doodles of different outfits and one doodle expressing wonder at actually getting a work badge. One outfit is a dress and the other is a skirt

Two doodles of w skirt with flowers and a dark sweater. One full body and one 3/4

SHARE WIDELY. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one. (1/3)

Of all the polar bears I saw this fall, this one is probably my favourite. Kelp Bear living its best life. 🐻‍❄️🦊🌿

A somewhat dirty polar bear lies contentedly on its back in a bed of reddish kelp surrounded by snow. It looks like a person sleeping in a recliner.

A somewhat dirty polar bear lies on its back and does a BIIIG STRETCH, pushing its left paw into the air. It's lying in a bed of reddish kelp surrounded by snow and rocks.

And I've got a new book of bird humor coming out next year. You know you have a good editor when they ask for cover art so you draw a vermilion flycatcher pooping on some binoculars and they say "perfect" www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/rosem...

A book called The Birding Dictionary: A tongue-in-cheek guide for people who find themselves obsessed, against all logic and reason, with birds.

Day 19 #ArtAdventCalendar -spread from my Illinois prairie nature journal, covering August 10-17, 2021. Silphiums like cupplant and prairie dock tower above the prairie in August attracting pollinators and birds alike to their bounty. And gentians with bumblebees are fun to watch. #SciArt #prairie

2 page spread with watercolor and ink sketches interspersed with handwritten notes. Left page- multi-branched stalk of yellow daisy-like cup plant flowers with a black and yellow carrion beetle below it and a black patterned grasshopper on the other side. A shorter cream gentian flower stalk is to the right and overlaps into the next page. Notes-Schulenberg prairie, Aug 10, 2021, cloudy and humid- hot! 84- feels like 97, 1 hr 40 min later-90- feels like 104 degrees. B.impatiens were main pollinators today. Never seen pine-tree spur-throat grasshopper before! Saw cream gentian 8/10, drew 8/17
Right page-sketched multi-branched stalk of prairie dock with its ball-like buds and yellow flowers. A closer version of cream gentian with a bumblebee pushing inside is under the prairie dock. To the right are 2 sketches of a Ripiphorus beetle from the top and side. Notes- Aug 13, 2021, Springbrook Prairie, 78 degrees sun with clouds, Beautiful day! Saw lots of bees on monarda, ambush bug, goldfinches and sparrows on cup plant. Hummingbird, soldier beetles and bumblebees feeding on prairie dock. Aug 17, 2021, Schulenberg Prairie, 82 degrees, partly cloudy and humid, B.auricomus busy pollinating gentians- can muscle its way inside closed ones. B.impatiens also! Notes by beetle- wedge-shaped beetle mimics wasp, female lays eggs on buds, larvae parasitize ground bees, male lives one day, female has a short life. I saw the female and painted from my photos.

It's Weird Duck Time again! I made this comic a few years ago, and I was unsure if anyone else felt like winter was best characterized as the time of the weird ducks. The term has caught on and I've heard people using it without knowing where it's from, which is the highest possible honor.

A four-panel comic called "The Four Seasons of Bird Watching." In Panel 1, titled Elegant Songbird Spring, a yellow-throated vireo is singing against a green backdrop. In panel 2, titled Subtle Treasure of Summer, a hermit thrush sits in a lush deep woods. In panel 3, titled Magnificent Fall Migrations, broad-winged hawks fly over a colorful fall forest. In panel 4, titled Weird Duck Time, three ducks are calling exuberantly: a northern shoveler, red-breasted merganser, and surf scoter.
