2m is definitely backed by science. It's not great for enclosed environments, but most infections are going to be through droplets and those things rapidly fall to the ground. Plus infection is based on viral load, so the more distance you can put between you and the source, survivability goes up.

Of course, but I can't independently verify a broad stroke of "all" my feed was never that bad - I can only speak from experience of what I somewhat know. Facebook has incredibly high penetration in Canada, but their numbers are biased because it includes messenger and marketplace.
