Is it me, or does the phrase 'gentleman of leisure' seem a bit misleading (like 'right honourable gentleman', or 'at her majesty's pleasure')? (But congratulations all the same!)

Scotland guy here: I was showing as Rhode Island for the longest time during the quiz but ended up with a smattering across New England (43% New York). (I assume the faint west coast colours come from an affinity with Hollywood films...)
A dialect heat map of the USA showing my dialect is closest to New England (New York, Boston, Portland, but pretty much confirming that I am not from the USA.

Bute is a small island in the Firth of Clyde: an easy day trip, with a ferry ride from Wemyss thrown in. There’s not a hell of a lot there, but that’s kind of the point. You go there fo…

I vaguely remember Jeremy Paxman once asked Christopher Hitchens, "What do you think of David Cameron?" Hitchens replied, "Well, he doesn't make me think." That was when I realised you could apply this answer to many, many other things too!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I liked it! I like Jason And The Argonauts too! I understand the need for any excuse not to spend money on something you're ambivalent about, though. I will say it's the only Nolan film I've *enjoyed*. Sure, it deviates from the original, but it does have to make money... enjoy on TV! 🙂

I do this - and I'll employ Craig Ferguson's three questions too: “Ask yourself the three things you must always ask yourself before you say anything - 1) Does this *need* to be said? 2) Does this need to be said *by me*? 3) Does this need to be said by me *right now*?”

I scored 18/20 in identifying AI images! (Two false positives - thought they were AI-made, but they were real - which shows the dangers of prevalent AI imagery are not just being duped by fakes, but disbelieving things which are real.) Take the test here:

Also 1960s Kirk: "To be human is to be complex. You can't avoid a little ugliness from within and from without." And 1960s McCoy: "Spock, I've found that evil usually triumphs unless good is very, very careful." Classic Trek established itself as humanist as well as progressive. We need that! 🖖

Kirk in the 1960s had it right: “We're human beings with the blood of a million savage years on our hands, but we can stop it. We can admit that we're killers, but we're not going to kill today. That's all it takes: knowing that we won't kill, today!”

“Use AI to brainstorm but not to write.” “Use AI to help you outline but not to write.” These are commonly proposed as “ethical” ways for undergrad students to use AI, but I’m sorry, brainstorming & outlining are just as integral to writing as the actual construction of sentences.
