Target on 225th St in the Bronx/Marble Hill permits ICE to use their parking lots as a staging area. Oct 5th letter from (8) area Bx City Council Members requesting leaseholder to disclose who authorizes ICE use of these (private) lots & demanding they withdraw ICE's permission immediately.

Dear Kingsbridge Associates,
We write as elected officials representing the West Bronx regarding reports and increasing sightings of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) using the parking lot at Target’s 40 W. 225th Street
location as a staging area for immigration enforcement activity.

REQUEST: We request a response confirming whether Kingsbridge Associates LLC, Target or another controlling entity has authorized ICE’s use of the property. If authorization has been granted, we urge the responsible entity to immediately withdraw or terminate that authorization and take measures to prohibit ICE from using the parking lot for staging, absent access required by law.

Our communities are outraged. In April of this year, more than 50 residents from the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Westchester wrote to Target calling on the company to end cooperation with ICE and establish protections against immigration enforcement on Target property.

This is private property operated by or for Target, where
our neighbors shop, work, and bring their families. In a borough home to hundreds of thousands of immigrants, our residents should not have to fear that their neighborhood shops are being used as a staging ground for immigration enforcement.

We respectfully request a written response by October 31, 2026.

This I get and agree with. But it does bug me when the right has a label / slogan that works, and the ‘left’ just accepts it as.. that’s what we need to fight against. It’d be nice if we had a phrase that says what we’re actually for.. instead of being on the back foot of, ‘ open borders’

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

I see a lot of music on #bandcamp labelled 'Dark Folk'. I get the need for the description, but most of it doesn't feel especially dark or especially grounded I feel like there needs to be some sort of category for introspective, vulnerable, searching songs that use acoustic instruments. #musicsky
