Volume I, Part III

Narrator: Our heroine, having finished her business in Cheydinhal, sets off into the wilderness.

Lifts-Her-Flail: So the Fighters guild has a bounty on goblins in the area. That shouldn’t be too hard.

Goblin: “Too hard”? I’ll show you something that’s too hard!

Lifts-Her-Flail: By the Nine, if your innuendo is meant as a romantic advance, I will flay you!

Goblin: W-what? No! Never! I merely wish to stab at you with my hardened steel sword, forged by the finest smiths in all of the goblin kingdom.

Lifts-Her-Flail: Ah. I see. But it is still a double entendre meant to signify the difficulty of the fight with you?

Goblin: I did not intend it as such, but yes. You could construe it that way.

Lifts-Her-Flail: I see… But that still fails to explain why you are almost nude.

Goblin: Ah! That. I spent my life savings of fish bones on the aforementioned sword. You see, in goblin society, we toil thanklessly for a meager portion of the capital from the nobility of- You’ve sliced my arms off when I was monologuing, didn’t you?

Lifts-Her-Flail: Yes, I did.

Goblin: Well played.

I will forever remember my idea for a TES game where you start off as a prisoner on a slaver ship in the middle of the Topal Bay, and you and the other slaves stage a coup and kill all the slavers, but the ship catches fire, and in a lifeboat you choose between Elsweyr or Black Marsh to go to first.
