Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed late. Too late. Information that could help researchers to better understand the early signs is already sitting in radiology reports. CDS PhD student Ebrahim Rasromani's recent work discusses the use of LLMs to extract this information.

CDS MS students (now alum) Adhiraj Singh, Deepanshu Mody, Ghina Al Shdaifat, and Hamza Alshamy built JOLT (Joint Optimization for Greedy Longest-Match Tokenization), a method that trains a LLM's subword vocabulary to match the exact rule used to split text when the model runs.
